My next door neighbor use to use a huge tarp to cover his tractor and put 1 or 2 100 watt light bulbs under the tractor to help keep the fuel warm. I was surprised how well it worked.

@IronOakSawmill

I would say no more than most wedges. This just does it all at once, where the other machines do it a little at a time. Besides, the offset in huge production of a fairly standard size piece of wood, is justification for a little more slivers than usual. Besides, it makes great kindling for starting a fire. Happy New Year to you as well.

I was finally able to purchase a 500i last week. I've run 3 tanks of gas through it with a 32" light bar so far. Awesome saw! I need to take the 25" bar off of my 362 and put it on the 500i to see how it cuts with that.
@IronOakSawmill

I was thinking of a 32 for my 500i. Stand up and buck as BBR always says. When you go to the 25, file the rakers a bit on a new chain, and turn her loose. She will eat much faster. Congrats on the 500i. It's an awesome saw

@IronOakSawmill

Hello Dick, and thank you. That box wedge is a real producer. Especially in the clean wood. Usually logs above 16 inches do the best. Smaller than that,, the 6 way does the job. Big gnarly, nasty stuff is best left to the tall 4 way, and mostly boiler wood.
