I'm 100% on rain water, my water storage is about 13,000 gallons. My advanced chicken watering system stores 350 gallons, my coop has its own solar and rain harvesting system with 12v pumping system. My shed also has it's own solar and rain harvesting system with 12v pumping system. I wash clothes while pumping water with a 12v solar system with less than 1000w in solar, I also weld off grid with this system, that's why I call my shed the prepper shed...if I wanted to show off, I would bring up the off grid fire 🔥 sprinkler that works with 12v 😂

A southern Kalifornia track home resident here. In my little shed I have two 15 gallon water containers with spigots, and three 5 gallon Spectre containers for portability or bug out situations. In my garage, i have another 15 gallon container with a spigot that we cycle through for coffee continuously. I always have a 6pack of costco gallon sized containers to top it off as we draw down to that level. Outside in my micro vegetable garden, I have a 55 gallon container that also has a spigot and a fitted cover that I bought for it. This is mostly for flushing a toilet for approximately a week’s worth of kaka. Finally on top of all that, we usually have 3-4 cases of costco liter bottles as well. While I could do better, I feel like I am miles better than most everyone else in the area.

We did an interlock a few years ago and it's the best decision I've made in a long time. I have a 2000 watt generator which gives us all we need. It was one thousand dollars total to have done.

He brought up good problems that will happen during a short term SHTF, but no long term solutions for his situation, but knowing the problem is the beginning to the solution, I figured this out 6 years ago.

Over here in the UK, many of the older houses have a 50 gallon water tank in the loft (attic) space that sits between the mains water in and the toilets, baths and bathroom sinks. It wouldn't be too hard to retro fit one or a couple to any house (just make sure that they sit over a load supporting wall). The benefit of this is that the water is constantly being changed so will always be fresh. Could you not add a manual pump to the well ? No need for any power then 🙂

Im now living in an apartment, I've found 30 gallon water barrels to be the best fit for my small space. A barrel in each corner of my coat and bedroom closets, so 4 barrels, 120 gallons. I use a battery-powered pump to move the water from storage to a daily container.

Could you install an old fashioned hand pump alongside of your existing well?

Yes you can. I've thought about that, but mine is 500ft deep. Most go to 300.

Do you treat the water before storing or before use? I just bought a water bladder for the tub, in case I have time to fill it. Thank you for the helpful info ❤

Before storing. The chemicals are to make sure nothing grows in it during storage.

The directions on these say 5 years. Although I think 10 years would be fine. I'm going to try and use them or rotate them out periodically.

Why do people feel the need to inform everyone in detail every single thing they have for food and emergency supplies? You realize it's not that difficult for hackers to get your location?

Shalom, keep praying & reading holy Bible(Not modernized). Dont stockpile. God bless. Deuteronomy 2(DRB) 2:6. You shall buy meats of them for money and shall eat: you shall draw waters for money, and shall drink.
