I watched a concert video of ELP performing it. Looked like Emerson was playing the bass part with his left hand and the electric lead guitar solo was also synthesized, played by Emerson's right hand.

@mags jay I am not huge fan of of elp, deep purple, king crimson, genesis, yes, 70's rush(although I love 2112 and and certain other songs too-rush is one of my top bands of all time, but I still dont like 2/3 of their catalog) and other strange progressive bands. I appreciate how talented these acts were, but they had no good melodies. It is great music, but they are not great songs. I feel the same way about zeppelin. I love about 1/4 of their catalog. I am blown away by about 20 of their songs, but rest of the stuff does not have melody. Same goes for pink floyd even though I do own both dark side and the wall and about 10 other songs. But the rest is terrible to me.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours Tre. Man you have to get to "the hut and the curse of Baba Yaga" soon . It's right up your alley. Fast bass, fast drums and super fast keys. You haven't done a live ELP song yet and Live shows were their specialty. Best live show I've ever seen, by far. ☮️

Thanks for this Tre! Classic, epic, ELP! If you can squeeze it into your queue... "Still... You turn me on", the track right after "Toccata" (which you did last month) on the album Brain Salad Surgery is truly epic too (and short - less than 3 min.),

Does the heart good to see people still discovering the mastery of ELP. Enjoy the ride! I followed Greg Lake from King Crimson back in 1970 when he got together with Carl & Keith and never regretted it for a microsecond. Been my #1 band ever since & still. ELP was the very definition of "catching lightning in a bottle". R.I.P. Greg & Keith.

One of Emerson Lake and Palmer's, specifically Greg's, best songs. Greg Lake was a superb musician, vocalist and producer. His voice and smile are just soul grabbing. He won my heart when I was 5 and heard Lucky Man. May he Rest In Peace, but should never be forgotten as well as the music of ELP. Thanks to people like you, it won’t. 🤘🏻❤️✌🏻
