One of Marshall's underrated records & I just saw this last night --Heard the records millions of times but never watched the video until last night. Ironic, how over a decade later this is still relevant just with a different face!

2:58 is referring to Eminem's song "We As Americans" (originally "We Are Americans") which leaked in 2003 and is on Encore's bonus tracks, he raps: *"I don't Rap for Dead Presidents, I'd rather see the President Dead"* and the secret service came to visit him.

I remember the ppl refusing to redeploy to Iraq literally just getting put in jail for like 6 months, the military doesn't tolerate you just not showing up to work like a normal job would. A normal job you get written up or maybe fired but for the army? You go to prison 😐

Yeah and back then even those that suffered PTSD from their time overseas were still forced to go back and relive it all again....

It's real unfortunate that a place called the "land of the free" could ever allow people to be imprisoned for refusing to participate in and could very likely die in a conflict that they don't agree with in the first place. Not just that, but also doing it to motherfuckers who probably didn't even unpack their bags yet from the last time they went on that little field trip? Shows that those at the top, the people with the power to declare and actually fight it (while away from the vast majority of actual gunfire themselves) don't care about America's values or its' children.

@@can_can9119 Even if ya didn't care about the person dealing with that trauma and only say them as a soldier, a literal pawn, that shit still wouldn't make sense. Yes, let's deploy someone who physically could NOT be at their best because of their trauma, therefor endangering himself, his fellow soldiers, any unlucky civilians, and our public support.

And a few years later, it was revealed that the claims of Iraq having WMDS was misleading and based on misinformation. And Iraq never got better after Sadam was taken out.

Really really cool reaction thank you - and please keep going!! Now the next couple of songs are going to be I will say "experimental" so prepare mentally for everything that could possibly come your way lol 😉. Also "... let me simplify the rhyme just to amplify the noise ... " Becaus he makes sure everybody is understanding his message 💯.

Unfortunately, this song was released too late in the cycle to make much difference. As a single in October 2004 when early voting was already taking place, and on the album in mid November 2004 when the election was already decided.

Bush was in the Airforce. So, I think he understands what the sacrifice was going after Bin Laden. But the transparency of why exactly we went to Iraq was not clear enough. However, I side more with Em's point of view.
