There are a lot of 'Jazz violinists' who learn a melody and a lick but can't swing or hang (jam over chord changes). This lady is not one of them. Also check out Christian Howes.

Regina Carter is off the charts with her amazing solo performance. Bassist!! Crazy Great!,the drummer is so cool and relaxed and Emmet is amazing. I've only discovered him today

As we would say in Brazil: brabo!!!! The violin player is lit! I just love the way she uses the different sounds from the instrument, bow attacks, tremolos, glissandos, etc. I generally don't like violin in jazz, but it fits perfectly here.
