Who the hell cares if the cars an original Lutz? It's a gorgeous car and would probably kick the crap out of an original. The owner did a great job on the build,anyone would be proud to own it.

BlueCoatPatriot original AC Cobras are too rare and expensive to drive on the street. They are museum pieces. If you want to drive and experience the thrill of a Cobra, a replica is the only way to go.

Yeah his statement about fooling 99% of the people is BS. The average guy building these cars isn't trying to fool anyone into thinking it's an original Cobra. And true car guys know the difference. Fact is these cars are better engineered, handle better, are safer, and in many cases, more powerful, obviously depending on the build but there are cases where these cars greatly out perform the originals. All one has to do is look at the chassis on the original or the superformance cars and the superior engineering and stiffness of the FFR car is obvious.

I don't know of any company that has mounts for a V-6. The hot engine right now is the Coyote and most builds use a small block ford some bored and stroked to 427. The resale value of your kit will really suffer with a V-6. Factory uses a monocoque chassis for almost zero flex meaning that the body does not flex and crack.

Bob is totally out of touch. A cobra just sold at auction for over 20 million dollars. and you have always been able to buy an aluminum bodied replica.

And a Factory Five chassis is nearly identical to the original. They all don't auction for 20 mil. That was the first Cobra and Carrol never let it leave the company.

Tom Dewgaw A factory 5 chassis is completely different in every way from the original. The factory 5 frame is a semi monocoque and is 7 times stiffer than the original. The body is not a stressed member. Go to their site and see. Its a square tube frame with aluminum sheeting. ERA makes a faithful original. My family owned an original in the 1980's.

I own a Factory Five Roadster and it is a 4" round parallel tube chassis with the same x front suspension stiffener as the 427 Cobra. It is stiffer due to additional structure but it's not so different.

Carroll Shelby had an automatic 427 Cobra as his personal vehicle. He wanted a street driver, not a track car. So, apparently Carroll was lame, too.
