When I watched this acceptance speech live my heart was touched by the way Regina talked about her son Ian. Today, after hearing about Ian I remembered this speech, so I decided to find it and re-watch it. It is a reminder to make sure people know how much they mean to you. "You make being a mother my greatest accomplishment. I love you!" ❤ My condolences to loved ones.

Regina is definitely one of the best television performers of the last twenty years. I put her right up there with Edie Falco, James Gandolfini, Bryan Cranston and Michael C Hall. She has delivered quality, intriguing, distinct performances in The Leftovers, American Crime and Southland. And she takes risks. She's also avoided being directed by Tyler Perry.

God. Oh my God. What. I remember the first time I personally watched Regina was when she was best friend of Justice (Janet Jackson) in Poetic Justice back in the 90s. And since that was a John Singleton movie back in the 90s, many of us never really envisioned those roles eventually leading to an Emmy. Now it's a new world, a new Hollywood. Wow. You go Regina. You've been at this for a while now and it's very much deserved.

If you read Taraji’s book you know how does special this moment was for the both of them. Both of them live in LA and they both have sons (both in this video, Taraji son at 0:37 mark) around the same age and when they had jobs they would take turns babysitting each other children if the job was stationed else where. So for her to give her an award was so beautiful
