What gets me in this song is how it turns around from singing about "me" to singing TO "you". It goes from someone talking about their internal pain to wanting to fight for someone going through that same pain. And then ends with "take back your life", which is so powerful and beautiful. I wish I'd heard this song when I was severely suicidal in 2017, I might have felt less alone and been able to pull myself out of the darkness sooner. But hearing it now still brings me to tears.

i found this song earlier this year myself. It was the first song to truly strike deep into me. I have had a few other Citizen Soldier songs, as well as another amazing band, discrepancies, but Would Anyone Care, word for word, echoes the thoughts in my own head. It truly nails how I feel, why I feel...these struggles that make life hard and finding the motivation to push forward. Still i struggle to find that motivation, but this song is the spark that rekindled the fire, and i come back to it to help stoke the flames. I wish more people could understand that just the act of them reaching out, asking if im ok, showing just a little care and affection to give that reminding that they do care. that simple act is the world to someone like me. to often i open up and get told "you should be happy, you dont have it so bad." or "but you know i care" life is perspective, anyone can be unhappy with their life, and sometimes its nice to actually hear you care...when you have a voice in your head telling you are a waste of space, the only thing that can drown it out is someone proving that you are not, that you matter in their lives and that if you were to not exist in their life, their would we be that bit worse... sorry for going on, there is a lot of feelings tied up here but it feels nice to let it out. to anyone reading this remember, you are special and you make all the difference in someones life. This would is all the better with you in it. and for those that may not feel these feelings, think about your friends, and let them know they matter. Next time you see them, thank them for something even if its just for being their, give them and extra tight hug. Who knows, you might just save a life.

Burden really is the word that fits best. About 4 years ago I had those thoughts, people would ask if I was ok, I'd lie and tell em I was fine, I'd hide how I felt. I'd put on a metaphorical mask while depression ate away at me inside. Never told anyone that I was having those thoughts, partially cuz I didn't want anyone to try and stop me, and partially cuz I didn't want those I cared about to worry. Never could go through with it. Thought about how it'd affect my brother, couldn't do that to him. And here I am typing this, and still breathing today. Took me close to 3 years to feel comfortable talking about it afterwards. also if you thought this was good you should check out the band Nothing More, also As It Is is a good one too.

I almost never buy singles (I prefer to buy full albums), but I picked this one up pretty much the day it was released because I just needed it so badly. There's such power in it, especially in the bridge and final verse when he turns it around and addresses the listener directly. I love Citizen Soldier not just because their music is amazing, but because they really do care about their fans and their comment sections are full of people saying the band's songs saved their lives. That feeling of "someone cares about me, even if they haven't met me yet" can sometimes be enough to pull a person back from the edge. (Side note, Icon For Hire has a similar spirit and I'd definitely recommend checking them out, too.)

I moved in with my aunt and come to find out she is telling her friends awful things about me over messenger but is nice to my face... I have to face her knowing that and she doesn't know that I know. She even said my grandma who died in january this year would hang up on me when I started to tell her about my Dissassociative Identity disorder i was diagnosed with in 2012.. To add insult to injury, my ex blamed the fact that I wasnt giving him enough "intimacy" and on one of my splits entirely and basically laid with a coworker.
