This was a great tutorial. So many ideas packed into one small piece ! I'll use the chain and lace ideas for sure, even the gold leaf was a surprise. Thank you for posting this, I added it to my Pintrest page! M.

I love your tutorials. I haven't started yet to do encaustic painting and am very excited about starting. You are a big inspiration. I was wondering where can I buy the stencils and pictures that you use. Are the old scripts something I can order. Thank you for your help 👍🏼👏🏼👍🏼

Thanks so much! I got the stencil at Michaels but I think you can find them on Amazon too. Same thing with the ephemera. Amazon. Both are Tim Holtz. You can find a similar script is on ETSY here. www.etsy.com/listing/608948057/old-png-handwriting-transparent-back?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=italian%20script%20letters&ref=sr_gallery-1-1

Rather than modeling paste...could you have used encaustic for the texture using the stencil? Just curious...the lace effect is beautiful!

So lovely! What is the tool that you’re using to cut into layers of the wax? Is that a sewing tool?

Thanks, Lucy! I use my mother-in-law's old dental tools haha. Also, I had one clay tool from college that I used. I large sewing needle would work, though. Or, you can buy a set of dental tools in a case from Amazon for cheap! :) Hope this helps. Thank you for watching!

GREAT question, Lucy. I should have listed that. I am going to paste a link here for you. The BASIC SET from R and F Encaustic was the set I purchased and I’ve used those three pigment sticks a lot. www.rfpaints.com/pigment-stick-sets

Are you still working in encaustic? I noticed your videos are all 5+ years ago. You've done amazing work using encaustic with mixed media!!

Thank you so much for your kind words. I went through a round of cancer, then lost both my parents and moved...so it's been an interesting season and time for a different medium for me. -Been working in pastels and oils. My grandfather was an oil painter and I've always wanted to learn. BUT, I finally acquired a larger studio space so I can set up my encaustic table again...while still having the space to work in pastels and oils, too.
