Here we are, episode 2 of the Encore P Bass Upgrades, in this video I remove the original red finish, as I said previously it’s mostly because I’m not a fan of the random black paint that was added but also through the chipped areas I could see that the wood underneath it looked quite interesting. Now there are many way to remove a finish and my way may have been the hardest but it’s the best way I know so I grabbed my Ryobi orbital sander and some 40-60 grit paper and went to town on it. I mistakenly said I was only going to go up to 240 grit and that was the ideal grit to sand unto for a stained finish… I meant 320 grit and I forgot to correct myself in the video, it’s been a while 😂
