My mother died at the age of 43 after suffering for 5 years with ovarian cancer. It was a horribly painful illness for her. Back in 1986 options were limited for treatment and pain. They gave her 90 days to live and she fought for five years. God bless her.

I had 25 lbs of ascites and a 15 lb tumor on my right ovary when they operated on me & staged my ovarian cancer. I had been looking 9 months pregnant and was having trouble walking (waddling) and breathing because of all the extra weight (fluid). I had also been having trouble pee’ing for about a year or so leading up to diagnosis. I felt like I constantly had to pee and couldn’t fully empty my bladder. It was miserable. One morning while brushing my teeth I threw up twice out of nowhere! This began to happen at other times too. Just some things to watch for, ladies. Also any changes in bowel habits. I was also losing weight but was unable to tell because of the ascites (fluid) in my abdomen. When I was finally diagnosed I was stage 3a... but I quickly progressed to stage 4 when I grew two tumors on chemo! The chemo hadn’t worked at all... either time. I was 51 when I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I had a radical hysterectomy and was immediately thrown into menopause. The radiation (I’ve had it 2 times now) was much tougher than the chemo. I had a lot of pain after completing radiation. They were concerned I might need an ostomy and I was so scared but somehow I am ok. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

My mother died from ovarian cancer and I was her care-giver for the last year. Sadly, ovarian cancer is called the "silent cancer" since it is often misdiagnosed w/ gastric issues. Initially, she had surgery w/ chemo and she had a few good years. However, once the cancer returned she died w/in a year. We managed her pain w/ medications and her anxiety w/ marijuana.

Hi Julie, In the past three months I have two of my best friends. The first was my life long friend, we grew up living across the the road from each other until I moved to America after getting married. My friend had hip replacements starting at the age of 64. Unfortunately she ended up with an infected hip at 64 years of age and passed away within a week from septicemia. My second friend passed away a few weeks ago from ovarian cancer. I knew her for 25 tears and she was only 53. She battled ovarian cancer for 4 years. Finding out near the end of her life that the specific chemo treatment for that cancer was not given to her because it was not covered under her class of HMO coverage. That upset me so much to think that an HMO could give a different chemo because they were on a lower paying level. There needs to be better treatment for these lovely women that have ovarian cancer. Thank you for these sessions, they have helped me with my grief process.

Thank you, Julie. I have been NED now for almost a year... but my ovarian cancer has spread to other parts of my abdomen. I actually had one tumor literally grow out of my abdomen. Literally. It grew through my colon & lower intestine. The second opinion gyn oncologist was suggesting hospice but I went to MD Anderson and they saved my life with giving me radiation. I’ve been doing really well since but I’m still metastatic. I just had my last CT/PET scan and I’m waiting for the results.

My daughter,44,is dying of ovarian cancer at home, no help except her devoted brother, terrified teenage son and me, a mess. She has been in acute pain for over a year, denied more pain relief because she can't have a definitive diagnosis of a biopsy done at our rural hospital and our government bought the lies of the CDC, that more opiates cause more pain. The corrupt doctors whose study was accepted, have gone on to have long, prestigious careers while pain sufferers both in the USA and Australia, where we are, have died in their thousands by overdoses, using street drugs and suicide. We have no hospice, no gynaecologist, no oncologist and my daughter is unable to travel because of pain.Assisted Medical Dying becomes legal on November 28, my daughter plans to die then.I am heartbroken and can't even stay around her, the stress has made me, at 71, sick myself.I despair, there is no help for my beautiful, talented, creative, intelligent girl.It is so very cruel. The doctors involved in causing this construct, Dr J Mao, Dr R Chou and their colleagues have the blood of thousands on their hands.May karma be swift.

My mom died just a few days after being diagnosed. She had some annoying GI symptoms for months, but was up and making lasagne, doing yard work, shopping, etc. up until the day she went to the emergency room due to a small intestinal obstruction. It was WILD. She went from up and running around to dying in just a couple of days. She didn't even spend 24 hours on hospice. I guess I was relieved that it was so quick and not drawn out for her, but at the same time, it was a horrid last couple of days. Your videos are really such a huge blessing. You give such good information and details, so people know what to expect. I wish I had your videos when my dad went on hospice a few years ago! I find having all of the information to be a comfort.

My good friend passed away in June last year after an 8-year battle with ovarian cancer. She was 66. She was diagnosed at age 58. Within the age group Julie mentioned (55 to 65). In the last year of her life, the cancer spread to her kidneys. She was declared a palliative case but chose to stay home. Less than 3 months later, she passed away. Three of us old friends were v lucky to have had a chance to see her for the last time n say our goodbyes. We were with her about 40 mins when her family members started streaming in. So we left to make way for them to be with her. (Small apartment). We left at 4 p.m. An hour later, at 5 p.m., her daughter texted to say she had passed away. This was a person we had v strong affinity with. She was my classmate, someone I knew from age 13. 50 years of friendship. The lesson underscored to me is, treasure those you love n treat them fairly n decently. Cos you would never know when the last time is when you see them. In this case, I felt my/our timing was v lucky. I could hv missed saying goodbye.

When my mother passed she was at home under hospice care for 2 years! Bedridden. It was tough on Dad and I since we did most of her care. The nurse came 2x a week but it was alot. My mom would see people in her room that weren't there, she would call out her dead sisters names alot. And when she slept her mouth was open and it looked caved in. The day before she died she was very ancy and talkative but it was very hard to understand and she got frustrated. That night I kissed her goodnight and she went to sleep. I checked in at 4am and she has passed. Still warm so I just missed it. But it was still very difficult even tho I knew it was coming. But I learned alot about death & dying from her. She was peaceful. Made me feel better. That 2nd lady you showed reminded me very much of how my mom was.

My mother died from metastatic cervical cancer during the early covid days in 2020 in a nursing home, so we weren't able to be there for most of it.
