For people who this does not fix an extruder issue: I was following this when I noticed something else that was wrong. When I was feeding my filament back in, I noticed the little brass gear that pulls the filament into the tube was loose and was not pushing filament in anymore. It was not a clog but in fact just a loose gear. This was a fairly easy fix, just take apart the spring assembly, and tighten the screws to hold the gear back up in the proper place. Once I did this, it printed perfectly again.
@stevedrawdy2532

What were the symptoms leading up to this? I'm getting extreme stringing and then eventually no more filament coming out, almost like a clog. Ive replaced the couplers, bowden tube and 3 different nozzles in less than a week. The gear eventually wears down the filament if it tries to continue printing.

Awsome video! One way you can tell its cloged is especially with abs if it no longer actually prints( it balls up on the nosle( or with pla it prints but snaps) Also if all else fails and your country has Ali express( PRC/ most Asian countries) or Amazon( west Europe amd North America ) you can get a nice hot end ( if your going to replace the whole extruder+ hot end assembly I'd recommand buying an all metal extruder ( cheap one works fine) cause it avoids soooo many issues this way. Also know that the bowden tube is toxic if heated at abs gr2 amd above temps( so basically 260 and above). Since I been getting lots of calls about this please understand that the included hot end with ender 3 pro is only for abs grade 1 or pla/pla+ dont try any other as the bowden tube will melt and its fumes are toxic.

I think it's important to mention that leaving the hotend powered on while the fan cover is disassembled is dangerous for the printer. If it remains in a disassembled state and heat turned on for more than a few minutes, the heat will travel up through the heatsink and into the other parts damaging them.

I purchased replacement nozzles from Amazon, that are exactly the same size & length as the stock nozzle that came with my Ender 5. When I put it in, the Amazon nozzle hung lower on my Heatblock. The stock Creality nozzle seems to have no threads near the heaterblock end, and must somehow nessle into the heatbreak; because it fits in deeper.. Where can I find tappered nozzles that have the best fit to the Ender products? My Amazon 'butt faced nozzle' started leaking only after a few prints; and I know I tightened it properly. I need a source for a 0.2mm nozzle.

One thing I can't figure out: trying to get the cleaning needle in the 0.4mm hole in the nozzle seems near impossible, especially with the taper of the nozzle. I have a hard time threading the needle into a nozzle hole when I even hold a new one in my hand, so how do people do it while it is upside down over 200C?
@MilanGajicBuva

prevention is better than the remedy: i figured out my clogs were usually happening after a filament change. dust accumulates around the opening where the filament enters the ptfe tube in the coupler and bmakes a little fuzz ring. when you pull the filament out and feed the new one in you inevitably push some of that fuzz into the tube, which ends up in the nozzle. i placed a less open extruder on the motor and a filamet filter right before the extruder and never had a clog again.
@SkunkLifeMedia
2 жыл бұрын
What do you mean by less open extruder? Only had my printer a few months, so still learning all this, but I didn't have any issues until I started changing out filaments more recently
@MilanGajicBuva
2 жыл бұрын
@@SkunkLifeMedia on the original extruder the filament is exposed more to iar, so to say, on the inside where the pushy knurly wheel is. The replacement has bits that protrude alle the way tot this wheel, so the filament is only exposed where it needs to be. Just add a fiter before the extruder and when changing filament push it only a few centimeters into th eptfe tube, then pull it back about 5mm. If there is someting in the tube in front of the filament STOP! Clean that first somehow and then try loadong again.

Why thte nozzle is clogging? Is this related to filament material like ABS, PLA, for example does ABS clog more than PLA ? Has this to do with the quality of filament? So you have to throw the nozzles away when you replace them? I saw at banggood that the nozzle is cheap, so that would be ok but how much is the red aluminum part? The ender 3 V2 is as easy to clean?
@Creality3D

The clogging is mainly related to other impurities in the filament. ABS is easier to clog than PLA. Besides, the nozzle can be thrown away directly.
