I understand joker isn’t truly himself cause of the chemicals so the true being inside doesn’t really deserve to die but it’s not like they can fix him( I don’t know if it happened or was said in the comics and I haven’t read the comics so correct me if I’m wrong) basically it’s all Batman fault

I honestly always believed that the Joker isn't really as crazy as he portrays himself to be, which makes him even more dangerous! Even Batman has a lot of scars and bruises, we just don't see it because of his cowl. But in scenes or panels when he does take his cowl off, we see that his body is riddled with scars od past fights. Most likely, he takes a lot of body shots.

See, he got life in jail for killing a clinically insane man who had killed millions for a joke. The Joker killed and admitted he didn't want to be sane, and should have thus been tried as a sane man. After the third imprisonment he should have gotten the death sentence. Jason on the other hand wouldn't have realistically been jailed for long. I could see a president pardoning him or something for stopping a mass murderer. Hell, Jason could have built a defense around the Joker smiling like he did, saying he saw him smile the joker smile and took it as a threat. Only an idiot would think the joker smile wasn't a threat. And a Jury made up of Gotham citizens sure as hell wouldn't let Jason go to prison.

So he gets life for killing Joker!!!! But Joker and the other super villains got to go to Arkham where they could easily escape and commit more crimes!!!!
@Regenmacher175
3 жыл бұрын
They get sent to Arkham if their insanity defense is successful but people like Bane go to prison because they are not insane so the courts judge them responsible for their own actions. The Joker is presented as someone labouring under a mental illness or he'd be sent to jail and not an asylum. So technically, Jason killed a mentally ill person who under the law is deemed not responsible for their actions if they can show that their mental illness either prevented them from distinguishing right from wrong or compelled them to commit a criminal act. That kind of stuff is really hard to prove in real life so if they succeed in getting sent to Arkham their legal teams are either the best in the world or Gotham's corrupt...We never see any trials take place (probably because the writers of the comics aren't legal experts) but by what the writers are giving us we have to assume that a judge decided that Joker, Two-Face and the rest are not responsible for their on actions.
@Regenmacher175

@Radio Kaos self-defense has to be proportionate and immediate in the defense of one's bodily integrity. So if the Joker had attacked Jason with a knife and Jason had punched him in the nose for instance Jason might gave been fine because the violence he used did not exceed the violence with which he was being threatened.
@Regenmacher175
3 жыл бұрын
@Radio Kaos the reason people who are deemed insane (which is a legal term, not a medical one) are not to be executed is because the concept of insanity removes their legal responsibility for the wrongful act so if the Joker is legitimately insane, he needs medical help because he is considered not responsible but to show that takes time in a court of law, which involves experts and a whole bunch of other things and in the US there are a bunch of different tests to determine insanity, all of which are very difficult to satisfy. In the moment if the Joker were to attack Jason, he might be able to defend himself but it has to be in that moment and with proportionate force. So let's say the Joker rushes at Jason with a knife and Jason manages to lock himself in somewhere and he waits 1 hour and then puts a knife in the Joker's eye that would not be self-defense because it would not be an immediate reaction anymore but would involve planning and hence intent to kill the Joker.

Seriously? They give him life in prison for killing one of the most dangerous mass murderers in history? I'm sorry, but this is just silly. I'm not saying I reject Batman's principles, but no one could possibly blame an average citizen for freaking out and killing someone that dangerous. Any lawyer with a shred of talent should be able to say that his client felt imminently threatened upon realizing that he was confronted by an infamous criminal psychopath with an extensive history of spontaneous, unprovoked murder, and that his reaction was not only justified but laudable. Every juror in Gotham would be falling over themselves to congratulate him. They would make a movie with Robert Pattinson in the lead. They would erect a statue. The restaurant would become a public landmark. Hundreds of letters would be written by grateful families. Key to the city. Parades, ball games, t-shirts, talk shows. The Man Who Did What Batman Couldn't! In fact, I'm more inclined to believe that Jason had a severe mental breakdown following the incident, and is actually in a comatose state being waited on by Alfred in the manor as he sinks into a dream world where he can blissfully beat up criminals all day long, forever. That makes so much more sense than this.
