I met a vietnam vet that was part of a group that did search and destroy around the highly populated area called "Pinkville." Periodically, when they came across an area riddled with certain types of mines, they were instructed to move them to an adjacent area in hopes of "repaying Charlie" when they traveled through. If they weren't being watched closely they tried to clip the wiring or they made sure the mine was reburied high enough to be seen by the villagers during the day. The next time their platoon patrolled that section, the kids would come running up asking for chocolate / candy. Didn't take long for his squad to figure out they were being herded away from bad areas in the right direction.

This is a story from the genocidal people of Serbia attacking Bosnians 1992-1995. They made Biggest Genocide back then after WW2. UN resolution even made a day of remembrance. More then 60 thousands woman was raped. We should not talk about children.... How ever Bosniaks were fighting brave even tho they had weapon embargo . No army no weapons nothing. Fought against Croatia and Serbia back then. Then later on the Croatia changed alliance and was with Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Serbia. That četnik of Serbia were same people fighting for Nazi Germany Back then against partisans. Never forget the atrocities Serbian did to Croatia And Bosnia and Albanians in Kosovo 🇽🇰.

There are anti Handling mines that explode if a mine is tried to be disarmed. there are bouncing mines. there are smart mines that deactivate after a set time or fill holes in a minefield automaticly. there are fuse mines. you are correct assuming the most common mine is the pressure mine but that doesnt mean there are no other types.
