This video shows how we can use both kinematics and conservation of energy to answer several questions about objects traveling vertically. It also introduces the use of W=Fd to determine average force exerted on an object when gaining energy. The questions are simplified in that we ignore the small change in height as an object is being launched. We could include the small change in gravitational potential energy, but it is mostly negligible in these situations.
