artosisTV has a good discussion on the blizzard shift. Sounds like the bottom line is SC2 was not designed around a long-term sales model - they were planning on the 3 waves of box sales and then everything after that was trying to figure out how to justify the consumption of talent. Compare that to other games which have micro-purchases built in, or even SAAS like what, all modern productivity titles? The genre is going to have to get reborn with an architecture that will allow the same kind of long term stability in rules and concept, plus the ability to do balance updates, plus a pay model that keeps the designer invested. Or just releasing the title to be open source or something!!!!!
@user-kn6rh5yu9d

@@towTruck42 Poor execution and mismangement of the game should mean that they design a sequel to the series. However, not every single game needs mtx, granted i bought every skin for this game to support it but Blizzard needs to INVEST in the game to get a return, not half ass it like EA, notice how poorly EA games sell today compared to 10 years ago. Blizzard is on it's way as well because of bad decisions, which is tragic because I always want to support blizzard as much as possible, this is not a decision I can get behind, this is tragic. SC2 is the only good RTS, and now they have abandoned it, Pray there's a sequel to this series otherwise it's an IP that will go to waste and lose a lot of loyal customers of blizzard in the process.

@@masonlenox6829 Currently Reynor. Overall(currently active),- Maru, Rogue, Serral. Reasoning,- 1. Serral is meta player and his success period coincided with overall zerg domination(and this meta was created by Rogue and Dark). Other 3 were less dominant at their best, but they didn't care about meta and won when other people of the same race were not winning. 2. Their success lives much longer and relies on tournaments with full presentation of the best players. Most of Serral tournaments wins are without korean players. Maru - first premier win 2013- last 2020 (9 "international" premier tournaments won) Rogue - 2017 - 2020 (7) Serral - 2018 - 2020 (5 international out of 12 overall) 3. Serral never played GSL and never showed how he does in this format. TY is far below because he has issues with regular format. And when he was good at regular format, he couldn't win GSL. Of the 14 seasons that have occurred since LotV, up to and including the season of this finals, we have 9 terran wins, 3 zerg wins and 2 protoss wins. I repeat: 14 LotV seasons: 9 terran wins 3 zerg wins 2 protoss wins This is why I am getting bored of GSL Code S. Yes I am a year behind, I am catching up due to being sidetracked for a couple of years. I am racing through to catch up to current, but I think I will give up if terrans keep winning like they do. Tastosis are great and have maintained my interest despite all the terran wins, even with their lack of acknowledgement of whats happening here, and their obvious bias against zerg (Artosis in particular). Like I say, their comedy and casting duo superiority means I can overlook those flaws, but I don't think it is enough to keep me watching terran after terran winning, it really is getting boring, a tournament is meant to be all about not knowing how it will go, but to start presuming a terran will be in the final and likely win, and then watching it happen just like predicted gets truly boring.

@@francisgaliegue6645 I must admit, I have considered following other tournaments than just the GSL Code S but time only permits so much watching. That said, I have been playing major catch up due to couple of years away - I am halfway through 2021 Season 2 GSL Code S after witnessing a Zerg winner of the prior Season 1 (which is a majorly nice refresher from all the terran wins),. Once I am caught up I will have more time to watch other tournaments and it sounds like it's a different story there. Dreamhack and ESL sound good, thanks for the suggestions. I will include them as soon as I have caught up on GSL. I have not much experience of other casters, except with replacements for when Artosis and/or Tasteless have been away such as Creighton and No Regret but I can't imagine I would ever tire of Tastosis as they do make me laugh and are thoroughly entertaining. I should imagine I will maintain GSL in real time once caught up and begin catching up on the other tournaments

Maru conceded too early game 5, he had a bigger army and TY wasn't producing very much so it was worth going across the map with everything and trying to win. Might've been a very slim chance but for a GSL final you surely try?

That last game was beautiful. You think defenders advantage will save you? I will attack from every angle and squeeze the noose. You want to do a last ditch hail mary push on me? I will crush it with my better units and bold strikes.

TY's marine medivac viking tank liberator leap frog push just closes all the doors. Does not give you a chance. Im a maru fan but by god ty is better. Well played!

The crazy thing about these games to me is that I'm so used to watching Maru run over people with multi pronged harass early on and here he is the one playing more defensive and macro. TY consistently winning the early game scv killing game secured him a few wins.

Holy fuck I'm only on game 3 and this is already the best series of 2020. Edit: ok game 4 was more insane than the 1st 3 games combined.

When it comes to army control and micro, Maru is Better than Ty. But when it comes to tactics and adaptation, TY is better. It is like a boxing match between a young star vs the veteran.

3:06:19 - Track ID anyone? Absolutely sick games, I was very scared it would not live up to the high bar of the S3 '18 finals between them. But this was even better. We needed an awesome finals like this, its been too long :)
