Kugata, Kukadachi, Kugatachi (盟神探湯) is a Shinto trial that was held in ancient Japan. It was a magical trial method (kami-ban) for judging the right and wrong of a person. It is also written in the Japanese language as 探湯 or 誓湯.
After having the target person swear an oath of innocence to the gods, he or she is made to put his or her hands into a cauldron of boiling water called kukahé, and it is said that the righteous will not be burned, while the guilty will be severely burned. There is another style in which a person is made to put his hand into a jar filled with poisonous snakes, and the righteous person is safe. This is a type of Ukei, in which an action is performed with the result shown to the god beforehand, and then judged according to the result.
It's a ghost record.
