Simple pencil and paper and drawing from life are the best teachers of observation of values and shapes and building hand eye coordination. Nothing else needed. I also love ballpoint pen.
Love your work so much! So much feel good vibes. Would you ever perhaps take drawing prompt recommendations from your viewers via poll? I’d like to see how you tackle stuff out of your regular comfort zone. Like characters, creatures, and so on. Learning how you engage unfamiliar territory could be fascinating.

Only one pencil can finish an art piece. It’s good for a beginner like me to take the first step. Thank you for your sharing again!🙏
I like smaller artwork because it doesnt take too much time. For busy people it's gold. Also fun to practice when traveling. I actually miss the 5-minute series (that in real life took 20-30 for me lol)
Omgg, thank you for this video Shibasaki-san! I'm not good with paint and have a bad colour sense, so this pencil art style gives me hope and inspiration 🥰 Much love!
Sensei, Can you make a video on a Koi painting? It would be so nice to learn from you

can i ask what brand of pencil did you use?

No! That’s not what makes his drawing or your drawing good. Please stop. Useful information would be to know what hardness of pencil to use if you can only have one for beginning.

It looks like he is using a standard writing pencil (looks like a Tombow 2558 general purpose writing pencil, 'B' hardness) and not a special drawing pencil. Here in the US, the standard writing pencil is an "HB" (also may be marked as a #2). "HB" is slightly harder so it may not be quite as dark as the "B", but it will be close. 😊
ありがとうございました。先生❣ I have always been intimidated to try sketching - watching this video is very inspiring and I am encouraged to try and be "free" to try. To not be afraid to take up a pencil and just sketch. It is very helpful to hear your thought process as well - so that I can learn why you draw certain strokes etc.
