When you do the motor mounts u should list the measurements for them in the next vid I’m starting to put everything together and have a set plan so I can start buying all the parts I have a feeling mines gonna be a little more difficult cuz I’m keeping the whole interior and I’m gonna try to wire it to the bmw can bus system so the gauges and everything still works but we will see

You for sure can connect it to the can bus that'll be sick! I had the measurements for the motor mounts but got rid of them after I was all finished :( I also dropped my steering rack by 1.5in

On average, engine mounts should sag 3-5mm on a 400 lbs engine. So estimate7mm+ as you also have to account for torque of the engine and it compressing more. Question how much of the front subframe do you have to chop out to fit the oil pan?? I have watched all 3 of your vidz, and still haven't figured out how much you have chopped :(

Thank you! I didn't cut the subframe at all, I just brought the steering rack mount down by 1.25 in roughly!

@@buildnest Thanks for the info! Just watched your shorts. Another question; Is the gearbox mounted in it;s OEM location?? I always thought the centerline of the engine brought it down to the point where the stock oil pan tries to occupy the same space as the subframe. And subsequent question; have you checked drivetrain angles??
@buildnest

@@RalliartRsX Absolutely, and the trans is in the slight stock location with it being a bit further back. Angle was 14 degree which I think was in an okay range. This was a digital angle finder as well.

Looks like you need rearsump oilpan. Otherwise this is really interesting

Got that right, or even a baffle!
@jute91

@@buildnest the front of the engine sits too high, so that's why it needs rear sump. Baffle plate for sure, every engine need that in racing use. I'm going to swap Volvo B230ft into bmw e61 driftcar in the future, It's rear sump and has baffle plate from the factory :)

@@jute91 I'm going to check if there is a rear sump for the K series I actually haven't even looked it up! Thanks man!

Murdochs, and they are Grade 5 bolts most common in Vehicles! Not Murdoch branded bolts.
