How do you know you got all the bad oil out doing it this way? If you ever see inside a engine you will see a lot of junk oil in it.

The tube you insert doesn't have to go to the bottom because the diptube goes to the bottom of the pan. If you hook your pump hose to the outside of the dipstick tube it will go faster with the larger diameter.

I did my Chapp Sunista today and did not have a small enough tube to fit inside the dip stick hole. However the one I had did fit over the top and worked just fine that way. Got 4 Q out and then what was left in filter. Another way to same goal..However I must say getting the filter off made a oil mess. What a bad design for a oil filter placement. :-((

Hey! How come you didn’t show us how you removed the oil filter without making a mess?

I ran the motor for a bit to warm fluids and engine, but let it sit for a few so most of the oil drained back down into the block. I then vented the filter when I drained the oil with them pump. Some oil leaks out but I just packed paper shop towels around it to absorb what may leak out.

I just bought a 2015 chaparral h20 21foot ski & fish with 5.0 what is the recommended break in procedure

+jacob dukes I would consult your owners manual. Mine recommended varying the throttle and staying below 75% throttle for the first 10 engine hours. After the first 10 hours (between 10-20 hours) you were allowed to reach WOT (wide open throttle) for brief periods (under 2 minutes at a time). Consult your book but mostly don't go too hard and make sure to change your rpm's frequently. Also check your fluid levels (oil, power steering, trim) often as the engine breaks in.

Great Video! What's the make/model of that oil hand pump with the attached plastic catch reservoir?
+sirmarcusandrew Thanks for the oil pump tip. Any chance you could do a tutorial on an impeller change?

+Joshua Watkins I just had mine done by my marina. Maybe next time I will do it and make a video. This is a Bravo 3 and the impeller is on the engine, not the lower unit. It's a pretty detailed thing to change.

You may try a few things first. First, I would say is check your oil. Make sure you have oil in the engine and that it didn't leak out, or is low now that the engine ran and has oil in the filter. Your alarm may be caused by low/no oil pressure and not start as an engine safety. Another thing you may check is to see if you accidentally hit the kill switch connected to the lanyard. The engine will turn over and not start if the switch isn't in the run position. Sometimes it looks like it is in the run position but not fully be, so you may take the lanyard all the way out and then reinsert it to make sure it is properly in position. Another thing to check, your impeller may be worn out or clogged causing the motor to over heat and sound an alarm.

I'd checked my engine oil is actually too much oil,I'd draw some oil back out to the level is said ok but the engine is not fire and the sound is still the same....!!! sad...
