Some of these Ska/Reggae bands produced the best albums of the era. The Beat, Specials, UB40, Madness, The Selector all debuts. Totally brilliant and unforgettable.

Saw them in a warehouse... had to be the 90's. Next to the "stage" danced every song, my feet were numb and my clothes were sodden after a couple (?) of hours.

Always listening. I was 18 when this came out. Still all British ska. Seen em all. Remember a gig in Pasadena in 81'. Got up on stage and had my arm around Roger. Those were good times. Course I'm a washed up old man now. 😆 The music will live on...

In the very early 80, s, this beat was very popular, the Members band took the piss, and a few others weren't serious about their music. The Beat was. Still current today in Oct 2023. from a 60-year-old.

Been years since I sat in my bedroom playing the beat 12 in. Wraparound shades and a pork pie hat, shaved head and slip ons with the obligatory white socks. Thought I was cool.

19 year old Eddy Grant co-wrote this in 67 and it was released under the band name The Four Gees. Prince Buster recorded it the following year and took it to another level and of course The Beat took it to the ultimate level! RIP Roger, Everett, and Saxa! ♥️♥️♥️
