This video shows how you can help you students remember marker words for tenses. Students play the game in a small group (not more than 8 people). But the good thing is that it can also be played in large classes if you create 2 or 3 set of grammar cards and divide the class into groups.
One students starts the game by putting any card with a marker word on it on the desk. The next student should find a "matching" tense for this card. For example, "now" - Present Continuous, "Every day" - Present Simple, "tomorrow" - Future Simple. If there is no match, the student takes the card and the game is continued by the next student. But if there is a match, both cards are put aside (they are no longer in the game) and the same student continues with a new marker word.
The kids in the video are lower secondary level (9-10 year olds), for teens the game can be made more challenging if you ask them to give an example with marker words in the corresponding tense. The winner is the person who is the first to be left with no cards.
