Merci beaucoup, Alex, d'avoir présenté Marion !

Wonderful video. So so thrilled to have been able to practice alongside this exercise as that demo was far easier to understand than by just reading about the shadow method…. Clap Français has a new fan in me and merci a vous Alex pour votre aide, toujours! ❤

Oh yes, you have to see it, to understand it in detail. And this was a sped up version for KZitem. It can take many many repetitions for one to get a phrase or part of a phrase right. But, whatever it takes, right? :)

Wow!! This was super great!! But difficult to do by oneself without some editing tools…I.e., rewinding, slowing the sound slightly….and….what was VERY helpful: the ability to write the phrases phonetically, showing the rhythm of the pronunciation. Excellent! Thank you!!

I guess I've been doing shadowing without knowing it. I watch my favorite Netflix shows in French and repeat the lines. I already know what it's about and what it means so I can just concentrate on the pronunciation and melody as Marion says. Usually, they're comedies so the sentences are shorter and more fun to say repeatedly.

Wonderful! Yes, I realised I do it without noticing too, but as shown in the video I'm still quite attached to the written form. It takes a lot of work to detach from that. It sounds like you are well placed to make this work for you very quickly. But, take your time :)

It’s difficult because in English I like to speak properly, I wouldn’t say wanna tea? if I had guests, I’d say Would you like some tea? It seems a bit lazy how the French squish things up eg Shay pas, it’s like an abuse of the language they’re proud of. The reason I’m complaining about it, is because it makes it hard for us to understand. 😊

Interesting work. I have heard of shadowing but this seems a fun way to do it. But it's not for me, maybe for those who wish to live in a French-speaking country
@FrenchinPlainSight

I think it's essential for those people who don't have a good command of the flow of a French sentence, to the point where they aren't understood. For others, i'd say it comes down to personal preference.

Trop difficile malheureusement. You have to be very fluent to get there. I’m not sure about shadowing. Steve Kauffman doesn’t like it and most what he says is correct I find
