It’s pronounced Beaver in the England as well. There is a Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire. A lot of English don’t know how to pronounce it there. BTW. Leicestershire is pronounced Lestersher.

You 2 are so adorable & hilarious!🤣 I've been laughing so hard at your vids! I agree that how she says Belvoir (it does look French...and actually is, Norman). But I actually did know this one was pronounced Beaver as I had some ancestors (Applegates) that were awarded custodianship of Belvoir Castle during King John's rule. They graciously gave it back to family (that still owns it to this day) after the war, who in return then awrded them large swaths of land in Shropshire for taking such good care of their beloved castle. The reason it is pronounced Beaver is that the Saxson did not know French & it was how they said it. It was the closest they could apparently get to the French/Norman pronunciation so it stuck!

American from Tennessee here. We say so many of our words like the Northern Irish such as dropping the letter "g" on words ending in "ing". Some of the older Appalachian Americans also pronounce "fire" as "far" and "tower" would be pronounced as "tare". "Water" in East TN is pronounced "wat-ER" vs "watah".

Just to let you know .... when you post your name, you don’t put in an apostrophe. It should simply say, “The Wallaces”. When you are talking about 2 or more thing, you just add the ‘s’ at the end. The only time you would use an apostrophe, would be if you are talking about something BELONGING to one of you. E.g. This is Wallace’s phone. I just thought that you wouldn’t want a huge grammar error to show up every single time you post something. I love listening to your accent challenges & I love your natural laughs.
