Tbh I really like the adaptive cruise control. I feel much happier steering the car and still feeling in control, but with it auto braking on the motorway when cars slow down in front. I don’t feel confident with the auto steer - it’s just a step too far. I absolutely love my Tesla 3 lr and surprised at what fun it is to drive.

Thanks and welcome to my channel! I've not found AP anywhere near as bad as what I've been reading online. It coped well with a busy motorway and I've not had an issue with it in the 4 weeks of ownership.

A tour of my childhood town! I've had the odd freak-out with standard AP (emergency brake and steer for a car about to join the carriageway, but not going over their line or danger to me as I read it). Still keen to get EAP for motorway lane changes, etc. That's one area I get tired of engaging and re-engaging AP on commutes... Not cheap, but could be a game changer.

Glad it brought back some memories for you. I'll probably do another enhanced autopilot video now that I've got more experience of it. Did a 540 mile journey from Wales to Essex the other day using it most of the way without incident.

It's not necessary to disengage standard AP for a lane change. Just indicate and when it's safe, turn the steering wheel. AP will manage the speed. AP can stay on.

@@donshole indicating takes off lane control and only keeps speed. It's necessary to re-engage autopilot for lanes.

OK, but I don't have FSD, just the EAP package.

I think you do have fsd. In US lane change only comes with fsd.

@@patrickbailey1249 I have the option to upgrade to FSD on my Tesla app. Strange. I believe the UK/EU regs are stricter and some of the FSD features are disabled (e.g. traffic light stops, etc) so many UK drivers have not upgraded to FSD. Screen info in my car states 'full self driving capability' and when I click the 'i' next to EAP - auto lane change appears as one of the features listed. www.tesla.com/en_GB/support/autopilot-and-full-self-driving-capability

@@patrickbailey1249 In Europe lane changes come with Enhanced Autopilot.

@@patrickbailey1249 in the UK lane changing comes with Enhanced AutoPilot -EAP. FSD is basically worthless outside the US.
