@TR 42 Scandinavias joined the Hunnic armies during the migration era so she wouldn't have to be mongol or turk to be a horse archer. Besides, the early indo-europeans were all nomadic horse archers, and scandinavians hold the most of the their DNA today. Turks and Mongols of later ages took it after them.

I was a teenager back in the sixties who was horseback more than afoot, and I loved instinctive recurve bow shooting. When I tried to combine them, I was ridiculed beyond belief. This was in the western US. I had a wee chestnut mare who had the smoothest gallop, you could drink from a glass. I have to be satisfied with watching these youngsters.

Interesting she has a rather small horse, just like the Mongols did, and she looks quite small as well. I wonder if the short stature of the steppe nomads enabled them to ride smaller, tougher and more agile horses with better stamina. I would guess that shooting from a larger horse would be more difficult and dangerous with more up and down motion. Hence the larger stature and physique of European knights was a disadvantage as they would have needed larger horses to carry the extra weight, not to mention the heavy armour. Plus they didn't carry bows, with longbows being a bit cumbersome for mounted archery.

A very good horse archer is even today a very deadly weapon. Of course it wont work in a street fight, where you go to McDonald's with friends. Its more designed for hunting and real warfare with weapons. When you need to protect your homestead against bad mans or against other animals like wolfs. Start with Judo, then Boxing, then add kicks. After this close up training you start with weapons, like swords(escrima). Then comes the bow, then horse riding. Of course you can do it like you want. The Priority is not important. Important is your focus. So when you are a young girl or Boy? Why do you lose time? Just do it. Nothing is difficult. The only thing that is difficult, is to start somewhere. Where i get money for this? Ask horse farms. You will learn to ride there, to communicate with horses. Just find this one chance or opportunity and go your way. The world needs more horseback archers, with a good heart and soul. Times will change, and youre skill is the only thing that will keep you alive. Become a human again. Take this, its already yours. Greetz from kirgistan
