Great videos. As someone who had 8 years enlisted before commissioning, what would you suggest for a civilian with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and several years of civilian work, enlisting first or applying for OTS? (Air Force or Space Force)

If they are interested in commissioning they can give OTS a try by applying for a couple boards! If it doesn’t work out or if it’s not within their timeline they can try to enlist. Really just focus on the job they want and don’t settle for less!

I do have a question? If your were wanting to transfer from another branch to the Air Force or Space force and become a officer what would be the process that you would have to do. If you know any officers who have done that. Or should you go enlisted then got to OTS through your space force Command (I’m a marine by the way)

Hello, can I go from active duty to officer ? Do I need specific degrees for it ? Because I’m planning to study something that won’t make my GPA trash lol then try to go officer then PT school for my masters

If you are active duty and have dependents, best bet is to go to OTS. Most jobs in the Air Force don't require specific qualifications other than just a bachelors degree in anything (could literally be in basket weaving it doesn't matter). Exception would be all IT and Linguistics and Weather. those are required specific qualifications in those specified careers. I'm already in Weather so to pursue a career in weather as an officer, I have to get a bachelors in atmospheric science.

There is a developed plan that is currently held up at Congress for a decision. The Space Force is taking a different approach from traditional reserve and guard. That’s why it is taking so long for the decision and implementation.

if you commission thru USAFA it's a 5 year Active Duty Service Commitment (ADSC). AFROTC and OTS both have a 4 year ADSC.

Hey I have my AS but not my bachelors. I have 90 college credits and plan on going back to finish my bachelors degree in homeland security. currently age 26 but when I was 21 got a OVWI for blowing .081 plead not guilty and not convicted. I believe I'm required to have a moral waiver I remember talking to a recruiter and he said no problem for enlisted. so my question is will the process be different for trying to get a commission as an officer.

Hey, so I haven’t gone in the Air Force yet, but I’ve sworn in recently to go enlisted and I’m waiting to leave for basic. I’m trying to plan our part of my future, so I figured I could ask some questions here in case you may see it. Basically, I’ve already been to community college, and actually did three years due to looking into other majors. However, for a period, some personal stuff in my life was going on, and I didn’t do so well in school. Because of this my current GPA is a 2.44, just below the 2.5 minimum to apply for POC-ERP. Would this be a serious problem, and would they still let me into POC-ERP under these circumstances? If I can’t, then my plan is to just continue to do online school while enlisted at the same college I went to, and retake some of the classes I did bad in, and also take some others to above a 2.5, because I know I am able to. But this brings me to another question: If I do this, will this possibly get in the way of me being able to do POC-ERP since this is well over 2 years of school? Even if my cumulative GPA ends up being high enough after? Or will it not matter and they’ll just look at my GPA? Also, finally with all of this, what are the chances I can actually do POC-ERP? Is it very difficult to get into? I have a plan B set up to where if I don’t get into it, after my 4 years I’ll go civilian again, and do ROTC at a school I choose and use the GI bill to help me out there, and then go back in the Air Force as an officer from there. I know this is a lot, and I know you may not see this, but if you do, what is some advice you could give me?

There is a developed plan and it’s currently sitting at Congress for action. Trust me, the force is waiting for some answers! From what I’m told the Space Force is taking a new approach with the guard/reserve approach, which is why it’s taking so long to get approved.
