For those arguing about his position on the pitch as opposed to his son's: second striker role no longer exists. Enrico would have become an outside forward/offensive winger in modern football. Just like his son. Similarities are incredibly striking, even in the subtleties: the way they touch the ball, the change of pace after a one-two, the shooting technique... However, Federico has something special, typical of world-class players: he can elevate his game on command, when the stakes are high. Also, his burst of pace is something rarely seen in Italian footballers.

I know this is off topic but it is truly disheartening to see all the disrespect today’s younger generation of football fans have towards one of the greatest players of all time, Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima. Many people only got to see Ronaldo during his final years at Corinthians and AC Milan, therefore it’s easy to feel unimpressed by what he did. However they really have no idea how good Ronaldo was at his peak, nor do they know about what he went through in his life. Ronaldo in his 30s was overweight and inconsistent, he was not in good enough form to compete at the highest level. He took a lot of public criticism for not working hard enough, being undisciplined and unprofessional. People claimed he was not dedicated to football. These narratives are all false. Ronaldo suffered 4 severe and career threatening knee ligament fractures before he turned 28. He missed 4 full calendar years training and recovering to get back into matches. A lot of athletes would struggle to make a comeback even after one serious injury, look at Gordon Ramsay, he broke his leg and wasn’t ever able to play again. To look at Ronaldo’s physical shape and performances near the end of his career and declare he wasn’t professional or hard working is straight up ignorant. He gave football everything he had even though his journey was very difficult. He never missed a day of training and worked for excessive periods to fight through his injuries. When he got carried off on a stretcher that game against Lazio, it could’ve easily been his last game ever as it was so horrific. But Ronaldo never gave up and came back every time until his body wouldn’t allow him anymore. It takes a special amount of dedication, courage and professionalism to make it through Ronaldo’s situation. This is why all the wise football people respect him. He is a legend to the game without any doubts.
@harrykane_

He was the best in his prime. And I'm a young fan of football. But sadly of course for him being inconsistent many people don't rate him. I think back then recovering from injuries were more tough and that's the reason why many players couldn't reach their peak. Michael owen is also a great example. my dad said he was one of the best talents he had ever seen in world football if not the best. Sadly injuries fucked him up.

@@harrykane_ Bro... it was a skill in the 90's as well, even more often than nowadays when we have VAR. Back then nobody criticized divers (in Italy, not England) because people considered it an art. Totti, Inzaghi, and most Latino players dived, and still be called "legend", because in Italy it's an art, unlike in England where they shamed divers.

The classical Parmalat jersey will always be in my heart - it's the first football accessory (other than a ball) which I got with my own money when I was 13-14
