Dear Lady Arasi, How did you come to produce this piece? Just curious. (It's great.) Ensan Case

Dear Mr. Case! Thank you for your comment, I appreciate it very very much. A friend of mine recommended your book to me this summer and I was so enthralled by it I just felt I had to do something. So I made this video as a token of my love and appreciation of your work. And I'm very glad that you've found it and liked it. Actually, I've made another version with English credit titles, you can watch it here: vimeo.com/110973285

ladyArasi Dear Lady Arasi, Please pardon my two-word appraisal of your production. ("It's great.") After some thought I have realized that it is the most extraordinary review of Wingmen I have ever seen. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then your video is worth ten thousand, and I am humbled by your appreciation. You are obviously working here on a professional level, which makes it even more satisfying. I appreciate all critical reviews of Wingmen, A writer lives and thrives by such expression. I am particularly pleased with the attention to detail, such as the two movie posters, and, of course, the squadron insignia, which has never been rendered into reality. It is almost exactly as I perceived it in my mind. I considered using it on the cover of the newer editions, but the editors had other ideas to which I acquiesced. I am working on a new novel in the same vein as Wingmen, and will notify you when it becomes available sometime in 2015. Again, thank you for your unique and insightful work, and I am deeply satisfied that you enjoyed the book. Yours truly, Ensan Case

Chris Case Dear Mr. Case, I'm sorry it took me awhile to reply to your amazing comment, I just needed to gather my thoughts a little. I'm so happy you noticed all those little details. I've put a lot of work into it, going through old movies and movie posters, World War II documents, aircraft and carrier drawings, pilot training videos. It was an exciting work, and I'm so glad you noticed those things and liked them. I also have to admit that I had some help with the video. I have a number of friends who went and bought and read and loved Wingmen as much as I did. They helped me with movie posters and pin-up pictures and other stuff. The squadron insignia was actually produced by one of them. I don't know if you're familiar with the terms "fanwork" and "fandom". Basically, fandom is a number of people who get so enthralled by a book (or a movie, or a TV-show, for example) that they start creating their own works as a kind of tribute to the work they love. I guess that's what me and my friends could be called. =) One of them is making collages inspired by the book, and a couple of others are writing stories, and I have some ideas for a couple more vids, and we only wish there were some way for more people around here to read your book (all of us are actually Russian, so you can say you've got yourself an international fandom =)). I really hope you don't mind all this activity, it's strictly non-profit, of course, and just for our own fun. It's just that all of us loved your book, the story and the characters, so much it was hard to let it go. Oh, and the fact that you're writing another book is just so amazing! Thank you for telling me, I appreciate it a lot and I wish you the best of luck with your work. I'm sure to pass those news along to the others so we all are going to be looking forward to it when it comes out. Yours truly, Tatjana

Such awful music. It hardly compliments Ensan Case's superb novel.
