Where do i start after watching this. So it turns out when digesting, the blood is diverted in high proportion to the gut which makes the rest of the body feel tired also thank you so much for pointing out the role of the muscularis mucosa which i always stumble upon after inspecting colon histology slides. One thing to add is the stomach specifically has 3 muscle layers if we add the oblique layer. Medicosis man ! You're on a whole another level truly!!!

Muscularis mucosa is stimuated by cox-1 which is decreased to the point of bleeding in case of anti-inflammatory drugs i.e 384 m.g Aspirin.

Remember that high diverted portion of blood for digestion may lead to indigestion in that it makes stomach into fibrillation; more contracting but less secreting i.e dyspepsia & gastritis or gastrinoma which nearly blocks exit to stomach hence bloating. Similarly, when the liver overacetylate bilirubin and overwhelm the cyst with load of bile, the bile duct will be blocked and bile stagnates. Or the cyst will anastamose to another tissue like colon Also, in case of diverticulitis, the colon is contracting with less secreting because the particles are inserting into pouches producing fart, bloat, or pain during colon contraction (tenesmus). The colon tissue then will anastamose to other tissue like bladder cyst.

Amazing info! Thank you. If I have understood correctly, a nerve impingement in S2 or S3 may reduce stomach motility. Therefore, reduced motility and increased secretion may lead to a condition similar to high stomach acid and GERD that will not respond to medications. Could something like that really occur? Thank you.

Some say that serotonin is made in the gut... but, by definition, a neurotransmitter is not a substance that is produced in neurons/nervous system cells?

Hi there, I was looking for answers and stumbled upon your video. I loved the way you covered the material. I have not found the answer though. Maybe you can shed the light on some issue? I really appreciate any input. Here I go: Why do I feel the pain in my right shoulder, neck(R) and head(R side) when I have indigestion? The only way I know my stomach is upset is through this debilitating pain in my shoulder. I have already understood that Vagus nerve plays a major role in this. But, how? and Which area of the stomach is the culprit? Thank you.
