Jesus is good but no one knows the exact day or date He was born. Nonetheless, my house believes in Jesus. We love Him and know Him, but we don't worship pegan holidays!

Because we dont know the exact date of Jesus' birth. But, I just read a really good article that quotes historical works, online that Jesus' birth was calculated by an historian, called Sextus Julius Africanus, who lived in the late 2nd Century to early 3rd Century, and he figured out that the Biblical date of Jesus' conception, based on Biblical evidence, to be March 25th and he counted forwards to December 25th, in a 9 month pregnancy. Christians were first to celebrate Jesus' birth on December 25th. It was because early Christianity was growing in popularity so fast, that the Roman Emperor Aurelian was jealous, and moved the pagan celebration of "Sol Invictus" to coincide with the date of the growing Christian movement to celebrate Jesus' birth. He wanted to "compete" with Christianity. He found no one was going to his festivities of his Roman god, so he moved the date to compete with Christians. So, the document states that Christianity didnt take the date from pagans, but rather, the jealous Roman Emperor copied that date from Christianity, to make it a paganistic celebration as well. I was always curious about this issue. Thanks for making me research this. The Catholic Church has rooms full of documents, books, etc., from the early Church. Its really exciting to take courses on the early Church. Soooo many peoole were martyred. It is my duty as a Christian Catholic, to believe in their lives, and their sacrifices, and continue to pray for the unity one day, of Christianity. The article speaks of many Puritans who criticized the date of Christmas to be of pagan origin in the 1600's, 1700's, and 1800s, but they made up history, instead of researching the real story. For me, when real scholars look at the original documents, its best to trust them. The article is written by a PhD candidate in Theology. Look up "TGC" ecoalition's document online "Christmas isnt Pagan."

But the more important thing was that Jesus himself never celebrated his birth or taught his followers to do so. He made it very clear that his death was the important day to be memorialized. True followers will not go beyond what’s written. So Xmas is an erroneous holiday regardless.

@@Valentina-bd1nn Im sorry Valentina! How do you KNOW, Jesus never celebrated His birthday in His life? IF, its part of Jewish tradition, He sure DID celebrate His birthday as a child, growing up! Dont you know, the Apostles wrote, that the Bible is ONLY A SNIPPET of what Jesus did, for they say, what He did could fill rooms and rooms with books! Please, people, dont be so naieve. That's why the Catholic Church "continued" Jewish traditions in the Mass, in their robes. Its NOT all about what's written, dear people. Its also about traditions!

follow the Bible, do not go presumptuously go beyond what is written. It’s the path to life. Man’s traditions mean nothing.

Yeshua is his name not Jesus!!!! He was Jewish, Hebrew and His mother's name was Miryam. Stop using the Greek Name for our Savior. Yeshua means salvation!!!!
