Bout damn time you posted a new video! Been waiting for ages. What would it take for you to do a course on political philosophy? If necessary, I'll donate the pads and helmets.

For me, in my pursuit of learning logic, one of the most difficult hurdles has been trying to formalise arguments from speech

Stay away from treating "shit talking" as a coherent argument, as in the Trump statement... it only serves to confuse..

This is a really interesting point. I've been trying to put a good lesson together on "bullshit, trolls, and other bad-faith discourse," and I've been hesitating because it's such a weird and slippery topic. My personal take is that Trump is a champion bullshitter, and is attempting to operate outside of linguistic norms like "truth and falsity." I'll be sure to address this in that lesson (if I can ever get it finished). That said, I think the context of argument reconstruction is precisely the place where we want to err on the side of charity, and I think that means making an effort to at least try to interpret someone as if they are speaking earnestly. The ability to do this, even when we have strong suspicions to the contrary, is an essential skill, and worth practicing.
