*Story 1:* Wow! Talk about crazy! I don't get why this bloke felt he could just *waltz* into someone's flat without their permission and just look through their stuff. It's too bad OP didn't call the police and have him arrested for home intrusion.

You have to lock your doors now. Family members of mine would leave them unlocked all day until they had a falling out with a distant family member and his entitled ways, scared he would show up when he felt like it as he had in the past they started locking the doors. I told my family in recent years they need to lock them as soon as they get in the house and fit CCTV after I read about pretend refuges just walking into random houses off the street like they owned the place. Yes this does happen as I've read on twitter. The only deterrent that works is a dog.

Story 1: If OP doesn’t want to fumble with a key, they could get a keypad combination style lock. Story 2: I’ve been in these situations, and when I’m accused of trying to parent someone else’s child, I reply with “Well SOMEONE has to, because obviously you won’t do it!” Worth the write up/warning.

Did you know stores can't legally store the cvv number on your card to their system, that's why you always have to type it in when you purchase something online.

I work in a call center and have had the "you should see my info" line. Like yeah, but I need you to say it. Like if someone else called in and pulled that and we gave info, you would be pissed. Or "I want it documented I'm POA" you need to send proof so we can get you verified and know you are legit.

I have to say i would be terrified if someone that i didnt know just came waltzing into my house. I definitely wouldn't say "oh yay" if someone broke into my house and I had to unalive them, but I do think it's important for me to have firearms in my house since I am a woman living by myself. I may get flamed for this, but i live in the midwest and its normal to own firearms here, so sue me.

I'm I the only one who thinks keys aren't a big deal? Locks aren't that big of a hassle. OP could just get a code lock too. No keys then. Security. Still pretty easy.

Last Story original poster should just book The Family a hotel. That or go ahead and have some other friend or family member take them in. They also Should get some Actual help for their addictions Because that is not good. See if they can get some counseling or something and I get that their family and what not but they literally even if they have no house or no vehicle could go anywhere else. I'm sure they have more friends or family that they could go live with or even end up getting them a hotel room until they can figure out a different situation and I would definitely lock up everything that you can that is personal that way your family cannot get into it if you decide to let them stay any further put locks on the doors as well that way you guys can actually have some privacy because that is not okay.

I know I say this every time he says it but I really wish the narrator would stop saying stupid kids. I got a response one time when I made a comment saying that I was right. It’s not that the kids stupid. Kids only know what her talked so if anyone’s the stupid one it’s the parent not the child.

To the lady that had the panic attack at the second hand store. I'm in customer service myself. And you have to have very thick skin. You can't be hyperventilating and having a panic attack because of customer being lightly rude. I'm not excusing the behavior of the customer or that child. They are wrong. But having thin skin at a job that is notoriously known for Karens.... you just kind of have to learn thick skin. Behaving like this as an adult on both sides it's just really bizarre
@MarsJenkar
4 ай бұрын
There are a couple major caveats here, and I think they may be relevant to the situation. Caveat 1: The OP's skin was pre-thinned from household abuse, and sometimes "just grow a thicker skin" doesn't work when faced with a repeat of the traumatic situation. I suspect this is a case of PTSD, which isn't quickly or easily dealt with. Caveat 2: Sometimes you don't have a lot of good choices for what jobs are available to you. The jobs that would be most appropriate for OP may not be hiring, or may be tightly competitive, while retail/customer service almost always is hiring (at least in the US it is). So you end up with people who need a job, but can't find work well-suited for them, so they end up having to settle for a retail or customer service job that they're just not well-suited for.
@Justin-A-Carter

@@MarsJenkar well I understand her problems. But this doesn't make for good business practice. you walk in and see some woman having a fit. And another woman being a grumpy bitch. It both sucks here. And yes I understand that jobs can be pretty thin but at this point she needs to get therapy before she goes on the job market. She sort of just told the woman to mind her children or leave. Then walk away and if she becomes a greater problem, security or the police can be called... It's a valuable thing to learn to have thick skin. And I'm sorry about her home issues. But the fact is she has to learn this. It's a life skill
