It's a shame these resellers won't let unfortunate kids of today have the same experience I had with the Blue Version and take away the point of these thrift stores just to leech off of every party involved. Matt is a complete tool, I´d say he´s like the Australian version of Philly Phlipper. Doesn´t bother to clean most of the items he sells (some game consoles and game cases look like they´ve literally been pulled from a pile of dirt, shoes have tons of mud or grass stuck on the soles). Has no idea what video game item conditions mean on Ebay (marks most them "Very good" as long as it has its case and cover art, even when game case is broken or has punctures, cover art is ripped or water damaged, disc has scratches etc). He even made a tutorial video on how to sell video games on Ebay where the example game was at best in "Good" condition but marked it "Very good", still had to argue in the comments with people who mentioned the same thing. Ebay feedback clearly reflects his attitude and half assing.

Upon opening, all scattered to various parts of the store, mostly in clothing. It was painfully apparent these kids were into the reselling game. The most noticeable thing I saw/overheard was them in jeans looking at the racks very throughly. Saw them jumped from the smallest size to largest in one swoop. I saw this article the other day talking about some guy taking a price tag off a cheap cut of meat, then putting it on an expensive cut of meat, and then checking out. That's basically theft, and I'm not sure where people think this is okay. Ripping off a thrift store is even worse than ripping off a grocery store too. Then people want to know why inflation is as bad as it is...Well here is your answer. These stores have to make a profit in order to A) support charity or B) support their work force and pay back their investors, and here people think it's a-okay to steal from them. They pass that cost of business on to the customer.
@steviefreakinc
5 ай бұрын
Agreed. I think a lot of people are so focused on themselves that they fail to think about how these businesses are able to stay open and provide to their communities to begin with. Resellers in particular like to say that they support their local thrift stores and maybe they do, but what about all of the regular customers that stop coming and shopping there because there's nothing there worth buying for them anymore? Resellers never think about that. So I mean if 10 resellers shop at a store but cause 20+ people to stop going there, that will ultimately kill that store's reason to stay open there.
@vlonethuggin2384
5 ай бұрын
Aaron, everything they sell is profit as they get it all for free & they get it constantly & some dont even have to pay their workers as they're volunteers. The reason why they make things more expensive is due to them being greedy and wanting more money, thats why so many of the people at the top of the chain take out big salaries for themselves.
@aaronw6195
5 ай бұрын
@@vlonethuggin2384 Just because something is donated doesn't make it's value 0, and that should be obvious to any reseller picking through these items in order to generate personal gains. That includes labor where volunteers offer it for free for a common cause or goal. All of this is offered selflessly so it's actually the antithesis of greed in general that motivated stores like that. On top of that their sales as thrift store often go to benefit charitable causes when they're not paying overhead. The greedy scummy thing to do is to steal from the store by swapping price tags, and pretending that your personal resale profits should take priority over thrift store keeping attractive items on a shelf, priced in mind for a multitude customers on a budget. Per usual, Steve is right, the resellers are being greedy or motivated by self gain, not the thrift stores. Oh BTW just as a side note, before resellers get ideas. There is a reason why it's considered stealing if you go out back in the donation drop off area at Goodwill and Salvation Army and start taking the items. You can be prosecuted for theft doing that. They were donated to the store, and therefore the stores property at that point. Just because they were given to the store for free doesn't mean the intent was for some random person like a reseller to get them for free.

I've been buying my clothes from thrift stores since the 00s and I find a lot of movies and CDs for my collection there too. And books for my wife. I don't do the thrift store reselling. AND here's a novel idea... if you want to bitch about it, text your buddies and tell them. Stop making videos complaining like a little child because you didn't get your way. This ain't burger king buddy Yeah I've been reselling since 2005 when craigslist became a thing. But I never went sourcing. I sold stuff around the house. And never charged people crazy amounts. I do it seldomly now because of my health I can't do it as much but I mainly do marketplace and I don't ever rip people off. And I'm having a 3rd colon surgery in a week so my reselling will be put on hold for awhile and that's fine.

The reason they have to make a video on it is because of the ad revenue it generates for them. If they're going to miss a deal, they can at least count on Google to pay them for missing out. Pretty sad in my book. I mentioned this in the video as well.

Yeah, one time I saw this dude quickly scanning through neck of all of the women's shirts in Goodwill, he was just checking the tags to see the brand and grabbing anything that was a good brand. If he was gonna wear em', more power to him. But he wasn't, he was dumbass reseller just robbing a charity store of anything of value so he could get that little bit of extra money in his pocket. Our system is so broken when this many are out to rob charity on a regular basis. Or do they even "have to"? Probably not. "I want to take the dolls away from little girls in poor families. GIVE ME THE MANAGER!"

No one thinks about this but imagine all of the ladies that frequent that store but eventually stop shopping there because there's no longer anything good there for them to buy. Causing the store to make less sales. Because most people that shop at thrift stores will buy more stuff in a single visit if they find something they really like.

A ton of Value Chasers raiding as I type since April 17 really showcased how KZitemrs aren't manipulating the Physical Games market with FOMO at all. Snatching as much tower stacks as they can. Shilling all of Caleb's tactics. Barking their Ladder chasers to "Go get these deals" now! On a serious note tho: I told people the only way AEW Fight Forever was gonna sell. Why is it you hate resellers?! Honestly though. Cause if you buy your media or video games from a thrift store, THEY ARE RESELLERS. Taking in free items, and selling for profit? Where is the difference in them, and the Aussie flipper? It’s literally the same shit. This video may be different, yes, but most of the time I see you crying over resellers. Even if you buy used games from GameStop or something like that store, they paid Pennie’s compared to what you’re buying them for off them. Again, them being a reseller as well.

I resell/flip from time to time... but that guy.... that's another level of terribleness. I don't go to thrift stores at all anymore because I felt bad taking from those who probably needed some of the things I was buying. I hit garage sales/estate sales now and do online deals between platforms or just hold and collect for a few years and sell. Arguing with a Salvation Army store on bundles you want for profit is just low. I like making a good deal but I have boundaries. I also don't deal in what I call "life necessities"... or things people need to live. I also try to stay away, and always have, from small kids toys unless I actually want it because it was a part of my childhood. Example: I'm never going to buy a Barbie doll because I would feel bad depriving a little girl of what she wanted... but! I found a Voltron toy once and it wasn't even dirt cheap, I just had to have it because I grew up on Voltron! Kids today don't even know what Voltron is lol. I bought that thing! I'm almost 100% collectables oriented now. Trading cards of all types, Physical games, Vinyl LPs etc. As far as that stuff goes, it's free game imo. I like collecting and I like making money, so I collect for as long as I want and when the value rises enough for me to value the money over the collectable, out the door it goes and others come in. That, you will never stop. It's been going on for decades and decades.

I'll be honest, I quit my 16 year career to Resell full-time only because my friend got me into it for fun and I was over my job and had to get out. Probably not the smartest thing when it comes to Retirement and guaranteed income but money was not an issue due to me cashing in my 401K/457B and paying off 90% of my Wife and I's debt. And she makes 4x the amount our bills are on top of what I bring from Ebay. With all that being said I just used to watch this guy along with multiple other "Resellers" on KZitem but then 90% of them gained so many Subscribers their Reselling content and Reselling business went into the dumpster. I even called many of them out on a video and of course they just ignore you. Matt is usually very transparent about his earnings and according to him did 130k AUD last year which is not bad but this video is wild. I can honestly say I'm not subscribed to any Resellers channels anymore because they're not good and they're all in it for the KZitem money now.
