We leave the port in the beautiful Albanian city of Vlora to escape the storm that is ravaging Albania. Our way leads us past Shkodra to the small border crossing Muriqan. From here we drive to the port city of Bar where we find a beautiful parking space in the marina at the port. We spend the next 2 nights safely on the harbor promenade in bad weather with heavy rain and hail.
Since there is no improvement in the weather in sight, we decide to continue on the coastal road from Montenegro via Budva and the Bay of Kotor towards the Croatian border.
We reach Croatia via the Karasovići border. Our first place to stay in Croatia is in the picturesque village of Mali Ston on the Peljesac peninsula.
Mali Ston, Croatia's insider tip, not only has the longest castle wall in Europe, but is also home to the most delicious oysters in Croatia, which we can enjoy in the Kapetanova kuća restaurant.
South Dalmatione can be so beautiful away from mass tourism.
