Entry-level is relative. Entry-level could be a Toyota Corolla, a Mercedes C-Class (not so much anymore due to the CLA and the other FWD crap) or a Bentley Continental GT. Only the wealthiest of car collectors would ever call a Bentley entry-level but technically the GT is just that! So entry-level is really relative. A basic 1br condo in any metropolitan area can be called entry-level but for many people (perhaps more than ever before) owning a condo at all is a pipe dream.

When the Rolex OP 39mm with the grey dial came out at Baselworld a few years back, I instantly wanted one, thought it was such a good looking watch and prefer the looks to a Datejust for example. Much cleaner look without the date. When I found out the price it was a pleasant surprise which is rare especially for Rolex. Picked one up 2 years ago when my local AD retired and was closing down. Got a 15% discount which again is rare for Rolex!

@allthingsrandom8137

mountainhobo most watches rated at specific depths don’t actually rate to that. Example, 30 meters of WR is 90 feet technically. Now I know that Several people have discussed that 30 meters doesn’t actually mean that. Most wouldn’t swim in a watch rated below 50 meters. Now we can talk about pressures and atmospheres, but 100 meters would be fine for snorkeling or free diving, but if I were to go below 80 feet, I want at least 200 meters. There are plenty of videos explaining this stuff

Sure I would love to pull the trigger on a Zenith 'El Primero" (which is a Grail watch of mine) but in reality its not going to happen and would not happen for most people. I think these Reviewers should showcase more of the 3 to 5k range (new and pre-owned) which would be far more attainable for people who want to own a solid respectable watch but arent willing to sell a kidney for.....

Designs are subjective so if you like the grey dial you will not be disappointed. There are videos on KZitem to compare the two. As an owner I really like the finish and accuracy. Speaking of my seamaster, like l said, I've had it since 2005 and I've never had it serviced, because it's never not worked properly. My question is, if it runs good and never been opened, should l go ahead and get it serviced?

Great stuff! I’ve been toying with the idea of the Oris Diver 65 for a while now, it just seems like such a fun watch. Especially the two tone they released at Baselworld!

Hilarious indeed....but I guess everything in life is relative. If you are Elon Musk then 12k is nothing. For us however....right

@@Peter-Alexander Yeah that makes "entry level" kinda meaningless.

@@Peter-Alexander I often call about 1k euros entry level watches, but most people I spoke to found 1k ridiculously expensive for a watch...

@@QoraxAudio Most of my friends think like that as well, but they aren't watch enthusiasts like us. But I guess everybody has their own limit.

Great video. Really good info. My favorite brand is Lange, so it's nice to see it here, even if it is a little more expensive than the others.Sadly, it'll be awhile before I can get even an "entry level."

How much is the AP Journe watch mentioned here? Did I miss that price quote?

So that specific blue model has an 8 year waiting list in new york and similar in other countries, entry price is around 25,000 USD but the after market is around 35,000 USD and going. The company only made 774 watches in 2017 and a few hundred of these models, and even less for the blue model making this an exclusive entry level watch.
