A recent stocking by the West Virginia DNR brought dozens of young anglers to Davis Creek in the Kanawha State Forest in search of rainbow trout. For years, this area had become a shallow, sediment filled pond behind an obsolete dam. Several years ago, the DEP began an extensive stream restoration project to improve trout habitat by returning this part of Davis Creek to its original configuration and function. Now, visitors to the park are seeing the benefits.
