Exámenes completamente cuadrados, cerrados , extraordinariamente e innecesariamente estructurados.

You're wrong, Maria. The Cambridge Advanced Oral Exam is first and foremost an artificial test of the candidate's ability to manipulate grammar structures, in particular those used for hypothetical situations (what you call conditionals or subjunctives). I was an official examiner, so I know what I'm talking about. All the examiner's questions and answers are SCRIPTED, so there is no possibility of genuine dialogue taking place. Furthermore, the candidate is expected to use modifying adjectives, adverbs and expressions which they rarely use in their own language, although I would expect the candidate to be able to give a measured opinion at this level rather than simple yes or no answers. But please don't delude yourself or people reading your comment that the exam is somehow less nerve-wracking than the EOI. The EOI may be more elaborate and requires a higher level of concentration, but the difficulty is just the same, and, in my humble opinion, is a more genuine test of the candidate's ability to speak English than the CAE. As for the TOEFL, go figure. Brain damage, pure and simple.

3:42 La inversión no sería así?: On no account am I an expert on the topic...
