I’m so glad you didn’t show an AR15, those are so terrifying, with their evil 30-round magazines. Just mentioning it made me anxious. It was very comforting to see it on an M249 instead, with only a 200-round belt. I felt so relaxed and at peace.

Typically, the Eotech holographic optic works better than the Trijicon or other red dot for someone with astigmatism, but everyone is different. A great review on the two dot system.

Swung by my LGS and even with a pretty severe astigmatism, the eotech was way more crisp than I thought it would be. I even tried it on with prescription polarized sunglasses and it was still a perfect ring and dot. Now just gotta save up for one.

That ranging information was very helpful to me. I just don't agree with a couple points. Holographic optics are meant to be looked past and so it should look somewhat blurry if you are focusing on the reticle. Because of this holographic optics are a bit faster because you can focus on the target more naturally. Other red dots may look crisper, brighter, or more solid, but that typically means you are focusing on the reticle/dot itself. That splits aiming into two parts, 1 finding the dot and 2 placing the target under the dot. With holo optics, this can be cut down after some practice, which is why most people say holo optics are a bit faster. I have an astigmatism and have found they don't all work the same. For me, single dots appear as a comma and the more going on with the reticle the clearer it looks to me. To see if it's the optic or your eyes rotate the optic; the comma should stay in its orientation as you rotate if it is your eyes. If you want to see what the optic should look like look through an aperature like the smallest option for iron sights; this will help the light collate the way it is supposed to and present a clearer dot or reticle. A cheap $15 red dot with a circle dot reticle looks cleaner to me than an Aimpoint. The Eotech does look fuzzy to me if I focus on the reticle but it's easy to pick up and as mentioned above is fast to get on target once I was trained enough to look through the reticle and not look for the reticle. I wouldn't disqualify the Eotech if you have an astigmatism. I spent years thinking they simply wouldn't work for me but they do.
@thedumbguncollector5546

Although I tend to prefer aim points because of the battery life I actually find the EO Tech to have the least smearing due to astigmatism. I do agree with you that a etched reticle is usually the best for people with eye issues.

Love this video! Must say I sold my Aimpoint M4Comp to get the Eotech EXPS3-2 with G33 and must say it is far better than the Aimpoint with my astigmatism. I think because this has a 1MOA dot and the Aimpoints are 2MOA, the dot is still nice and small with the Eotech. I love it and the G33 takes it to a new level.

My A2 rear block can be used for a 25m-300m battle zero, with a 0-2 large aperture and a 300-600m marked 1 MOA adjustable elevation meter plus a windage knob. Range finding seems squared away on the EOtech, but when the ranges selected are that goofy it doesn't seem that capable as a battle sight. Even a red dot can be battle zeroed out to 25m-300m and you can qual with that on a weapons qual range from 0-300m with minimal hold adjustment.

I have an astigmatism =/ not bad like other ppl. When I'm using a romeo 7 outdoors, the dot is somewhat Oblonged. In doors with light on .. yea, it's looking a star. With a holosun.. same thing but better with their circle Dot reticle. Now, since I dedicated and committed to an SBR APC.. =) My xps3-2 came in, and let me just say =) out doors. I think the pixels of it let me see it perfectly. Indoors with lights on the standard on setting, it's perfect. The important thing for indoors for me is that I can see the 68 MOA circle, perfect. The price of these things is up there, but it's for a reason, especially with the NV function for passive aiming. It's perfect since I really can't fit an IR device on this 7inch barrel. Dude as for your video, the fact that I can range .. is amazing. My only gripe about this is that I ended up getting a unit with the shitty elevation turret-_- It is what it is, but I do witsh both felt and sounded like the windage =/
