I’m one of the most sensitive guys who has been through tons of emotional trauma and is easily triggered by things and discovering Matt Rife has honestly been life changing for me. At such a young age, he knows his craft well and truly knows how to do comedy. Probably my favorite comedian out there. I wish him all the best in his career and life. Hope to go to one of his shows some time and get roasted. I’d go this year but literally all his shows are sold out, I totally understand why. I’ll try for next year.

Yes that's true about the waffle house thing. The cooks mark their plates in a cool but very confusing manner. Like, a 2 egg breakfast with hashbrowms would be marked on the plate by a jelly packetet sittingon the plate with 2 pieces of shredded cheese on top of it.

Def agree with him about self-reflecting on what you are doing to get your goal or what you want. I recently started taking more initiative about applying my skills. If you have to do it for free, but at least it's a start, you'll get to know people, get to do stuff and learn from your mistakes, and keep on growing as the challenges get accomplished.

Oh, I empathize... similar situation here; I missed him here in NC just like 3 weeks ago 🤧🤧🤧 But my best friend, who ironically lives in Colorado, had planned his little 2yo boy's birthday party back in our hometown and made a big themed, dress up in 80's attire affair... And my heart just wouldn't let me miss it (He literally sent me the invite 5 months before the event 😫). But I'm not gonna lie... I'm still verrrry sad and extremely pained that I missed my one chance to see Matt! 💔 He is adorable, and I often watch him during my chemo infusions (not cancer, 🙌, but for an ultra rare, weirdo blood disease called aHUS, lol).

Cutting everything suits the North American way of using your utensils, i.e using your knife to cut and then putting it aside while you use your fork to eat. In Europe, where we always use both the knife and fork all the time, I'd wager cutting as you go is more mainstream.

They ain't lying about that "marking" system that Waffle House cooks use when the servers call their orders out to the cooks. It's an insane and somewhat complex system using different condiment packs placed in different "clock face" positions on plates. A lot of attention has to b paid to the marked plates as they shift down the line. If you get carried away and plates are moved too quickly a jelly packet in the "3 o'clock " position, specifying eggs "over light", can shift into the "6 o'clock" position and becomes incorrectly read by the cook as eggs "over well". Sounds like it should be a simple fix but let a few of these fuck ups happen in the middle of a 1am bar rush can be fucking crippling and aggravating af. Because of this crazy as system, I couldn't believe my store manager was was telling the district manager that I had "mastered" this system on my 2nd day of working there! I definitely didn't have that shit "mastered" on my second day but apparently I had a way better handle on it than I was supposed in their opinions. Shit was stupid to me.

When Matt speaks "urban" he comes across like he knows Black people. You don't need to explain references. You know a guy like Jimmy Fallon (who is older than Matt of course) will get Black culture, songs, shows etc. but it would come across like hmmmm Jimmy don't go too far. You're trying to hard and you are trying to do the "black BET room". I'm from Queens, Bronx, and Manhattan culture and there are white people at ease with non-white culture. You don't need to explain EVERY damn thing. You're doing fantastic things Matt.

Fellow Virgo here & I get that compliment all the time, that I’m just too nice & if someone has a problem with me, then they’re the problem, not me, (and all Virgo’s)!!
