WHY does she sail so good? Great angles, good speed, uncanny balance, excellent in light wind. WHY?
Long straight heeled waterlines and a bow that blows a hole to speed into without wave making. Little wake.
Low weight aloft, little windage, and big power in a low center of effort in the sail. A twisted head shape has a cool relationship to the apparent. Even hard to get used to seeing.
Because she doesn’t really heel much, and the keel is a beautiful long foil, and you can ad daggerboard so there is even better lateral resistance to go with the long, straight heeled waterlines we get quite close to the wind. Surprisingly close.
That’s what I think about WHY?
