The wasps are called Mud Dauber Wasps. Common in the South. The Flower is called Camellia. It starts blooming after the winter frost in the beginning of the year in the south The painting is a popular painting called The Blue Boy, by Thomas Gainsborough, 1770. And the large fan in the attic is a common attic fan for homes in the south or homes in hot climates to blow the hot air out. I agree with you both about this house. It's quaint, and has some neat elements, but it just doesn't seem like a perfect fit for you both. And the second story attic was a surprise. It's hard to believe that none of the past owners finished it off up there.. Thank you for taking us along on your adventures! You seem like a nice couple. Belle in AZ. P.S.. She Shed! The feminine counterpart to a man cave is "She Shed". What a charming property! It seems to be rooted in the 1960s, which isn't a bad thing, but the necessary and required repairs, maintenance and upkeep seem to have stopped then. So a lot of expense to get the house and outbuildings up to par, and then the house would still only be half finished. I'm still rooting for HH3.

If you replace the roof you will have to do a complete tear off roof... we had to do that as our roof was two layers with original wood shingles ... it was common to build a house qith room to grow with children which is why it has that grand staircase
@craigmclean8260

This one had some good features, w/ a rather "blah/meh" partial-remodeling. I saw that attic space as "pure potential"; it'd take work, but worth it, I think! We had a ca. 1929 Craftsman-style house in North Dakota; it too had stairs to an unfinished attic; our solution was to dormer out a couple of substantial sections, and make it living space. It was wonderful, w/ views out all the windows...the house had the feel of a "mail-order" home (lots of those in ND, on rail-lines), but I could never figure out which one (not Sears). Like others, I'd vote for the Plantation House, though the work needed looked daunting. You may know this, but you can check the underside of the toilet lid; there should be a date of mfg. stamped in the porcelain...That square tub looked identical to two tubs I've seen here, in a Frank Lloyd Wright "Usonian"-style home, built in 1948, I think...

I love that era of house! It would be a lot of work but has so much potential!! A reworking of the layout and finishing the upstairs would great. It is livable right now and you could get the roof done first, finish the upstairs and then tackle the main floor and outside. It's definitely not grand like the other house but lovely just the same. I guess the price would be a consideration as well. I'm enjoying the tours. Thanks

If you want a house to redo for a good KZitem channel then go with episode 13. If it needs mold removal just hire that done or buy Ozone machines on Amazon. Less than $100. They work wonders and remove all musty smells while killing and mold, bacteria or virus. The house that started this channel was dramatic and fun, add in your expertise and nice character made the channel wonderful. I think you need another dramatic old home to keep this channel going. The house shown today was not going to be much fun to watch be rehabilitated.

The house has charm, but it needs more repair than restoration. I know you could make it a beautiful, functional place, but I think your restoration skills would be wasted on repairs that any competent builder could perform. To be sure, you might rearrange the floor plan to what it was originally, but I don't know if the effort would be worth it. I loved seeing this house, and I will now check on your next prospect.

Not a fan but I wouldn't be the one living there🤷♀️ you guys just didn't seem all that excited about it it would be nice if you would come back on these videos and tell us what your feelings were of why you didn't take the houses that you've looked at so far would like to know those reasons it would help in getting to know you all better and where your thought processes are, if that makes sense? Not going to lie, I appreciate the age of this home but the interior is absolutely hideous aside from the main fireplace and some of the furniture. The fabrics, carpets, closets, walls, etc are all just blech. It reminds me of a retirement home from the 1980's I do love the 40's bathroom and attic. The cladding on the exterior looks more modern and out of place, as well as the new roof, and the size of the home seems pretty small. Def prefer the one from previous episode which needs the most work.
