This week i head down the NSW south coast targeting Aussie Bass on poppers with my brother Mick.
The lush Valley dairy farms give way to the Kangaroo River. It is a favourite spot for me to set up camp and part of the adventure is camping by the river for a couple of nights.
The valley river Bass are not huge with fish around 40cm trophy size, but casting poppers early morning and late afternoon can create plenty of surface action. As it so happens my brother Mick gets us off to a good start with a nice Aussie Bass on his first cast.
I use the Hobie Kayak to access some difficult bank structure and this helps me catch a few fish that we just could not get casts too.
Later in the show we chase elbow slapping Whiting on the Nambucca River and i troll live squid to tempt Yellowtail Kingfish on my local Port Hacking River just south of Sydney.
Enjoy the magic Kangaroo River action.
