Thanks for the interesting episode. We have had an Epropulsen Spirit 1.0 on our Pathfinder for 5 years now and a 100W solar panel for charging. We spent 5 months travelling with this system last summer. It worked wonderfully and we never had a problem. We had all conditions from totally flat water to quite a lot of waves and wind. It takes a bit of planning, especially in tough conditions. But, in my opinion, that's sailing.

thank you for putting this up - im considering a Welsford Rogue with a Spirit on the bum - i think your video has convinced me that single battery looks to provide plenty of range. And if needed - a second battery is only about NZD1500

Another great video. You are blessed with magnificent cruising grounds and i love your commentry. Very informative. Thank you. Would love your thoughts though on off grid recharging and comparison with torquedo. Plenty of info about range and performance on u tube but not much on off grid charging. Torquedo may be better? Good subject for video?

Thanks for the comment. I've rigged up an 80w Powerness to the ePro DC charger and will report on that in a future episode. Stay tuned...

@@SmallCraftTasmania-ms4sx one other question does the regeneration work whilst sailing ?

Love the clinker built look. And the Epropulsion review. Would there be any advantage to filling the boat with water while on shore to see if leaks develop or to help swell the wood before an actual water launch?

Not a great idea. The planks would rip off from the weight.

Sorry all thumbs. I was trying to say I'm also totally sold on the epropulsion. I love it. I put the battery separate on a cradle and keep the transom weight down. Not cheap but wonderfully comfortable. Thanks for sharing

Hey thanks for the video, always great. Can I ask, how do you get your boat speed on your wrist??

Thank you. If you have an Apple Watch, download the Waterspeed App onto it.

Is the regeneration worth it or just a gimmick?

If you're 'sailing' boat can cruise for a few hours at a time above 5kts then it will work, slower than 5kts then you won't get much 'regen' happening. It works...we've tested it and will release another episode shortly. Stay tuned...

Carefully pulling a full clinker dinghy onto a trailer because the weight of the water can cause them to break! I have had to repair a few. Seen the bottom planks totally let go of the transom on one. That is a well kept dinghy you have there. Pity about the split planks though. Maybe some splines Glued in. You have to open the split and make the crack sort of straight, though.
