After Collo and all other old skool Kenyan artists featured on the show, I have now come to conclude that most of them were and are wise and more educated even from the way they tell their stories and understand the music business and that is why they managed to survive and push music in that era where internet and youtube barely existed, I can imagine if we had such MC's in this era, Kenyan music could have been BIG!!!! Growth is a matter of mindset, opportunities and chances exist everywhere

Mwaf leo umetujenga jo. After watching Collo kwa CTA, couldn't wait for him to come to Iko Nini. I think the biggest letdown to the Kenyan music industry, and it's proliferation ni Kenyan Djs. They had the opportunity to build it like the Kayslays of the US, but wakaendea low-hanging fruit wakarushia wakenya lawama ati that's what we want. But we go to clubs to listen to the Dj's taste in music, plus most of the time we're drunk so, wakicheza Kenyan songs, zitasonga tu. Wazi jo.

47:00 - accents and speech. Kifee’s buddy, George told a story about how someone in Kenya mocked his English for having a kikuyu accent. He’s proud of his accent because it sets him apart when speaking in business meetings and such because he’s all of a sudden exotic to his audience. Something to think about. If you’re going to be proud of yourself then be proud of everything about yourself, ama vipi?

Identity, the root of everything. We have to accept that it's good to come from this place or that place. Then combine that which is good in all of us to create something that IS all of us. We'll conquer the world. We're the best. Sometimes, going back to our roots when so much water has gone under the bridge, means building something new because the past is gone with time. It's double edged, we kind of lose what we had but we gain a clean slate that can allow us to shed off "unnecessary" weight. I agree so much with Collo, in short. "Let's take what's rightfully ours". Wow. I can't agree more. Vile sisi pia tumeskumwa kwa corner, let's fight out of it! Point I'd tell Mwaf, we have an accent. It is one washed by Swahili. Guess what? You're speaking it right now with Collo. We share it with our dear Tanzanians whom we love very much. If you find a Tz-nian who's smooth with English you'd think he/she is Kenyan. I once heard a group of Tz students from abroad and I had a difficult time differentiating whether they were Ke or Tz. It's a regional accent and I'm proud of it. I think not everything has to occur within Ke, Tz or Ug boarders. Somethings we do share. Knowing that, can save us a lot of hassle and tassel.

Collo was trying to touch on the way in which colonialism and neo-imperialism use the intersectionality of race and class strata as a way to divide African people. The sad thing is its going over some peoples' heads as seen in the comments... (He could have articulated his points better which was not helped by the cognitive dissonance of some of his internal contradictions such as saying classism is a cool thing)but on the part of class divisions enhanced by colonialism and neo-imperialism he definitely has a point.
