When I got out of the hospital with covid, my daughter-in-law came and cooked up a storm and made individual meals to freeze so all I had to do was heat and eat. She also brought little munchie things. One of them was the pizzas you’re trying. I found the best way to cook them was in a fry pan on medium with a lid on top. When the cheese was all melty the crust was baked through and just a wee bit crunchy on the bottom. I was sad when I’d eaten them all. 😂

Rebecca on Dollar Tree Dinners uses those beef patties a lot and she rinses them after cooking (if she crumbles it up for a recipe) to remove the salt- she says that they are quite salty. I have the same reaction as Brooke- the idea of beef hearts is creepy (but I’m fine with hot dogs so go figure). Great video.

If you get their frozen breadsticks (they are individually packaged) do not follow the directions on the package. It says to microwave in the wrapper, it is gross , it is just a mass of warm unbaked bread. Second time I baked them. I was baking some chicken parm so I threw the breadsticks in. Baked them at 425 for 15 minutes, awesome. Baked off a dozen, when they cooled of, individually put them in sandwich bags (the cheap fold over top ones), then put those in a ziplock. Just take out what you want and heat in the microwave in the sandwich bag.👍

I like them, the crust is high moisture, but they make it like that because breads nuked are notorious for getting hard and inedible. They're good fried in a pan with olive oil soap and spices like garlic, onion, cilantro and a few Italian herbs. They're great if you put a little pizza sauce on them and fresh cut vegetables.

You definitely have allowed me to consider trying more of the food in the freezer section of our local Dollar General. So far, I agree with all your ratings of the ones I tried. The fast bite cheese burger and BQ sandwich have been my favorites so far. Now I want to try the vegie roll and maybe the meat patties. It's cheap entertainment in the way of affordable dining in a small town that doesn't have any fast food except a subway, which I haven't even been to since I lived here. We do have a few restaurants, but I really have to justify spending over $20.00 on average for a just okay meal... that's before tip and tax, too. Thankfully, we have a grocery outlet, which is where I buy most of my food. Since they liquidate odd lots its an adventure of its own shopping there because you never know what you'll find... just always be sure to check the expiration dates! You know being poor enjoyably is an art form, and teaching how to shop and cook on the cheap like you do is an honorable endeavor! Not all of us picked these kinds of skills up growing up like you did... keep up the good work! I appreciate all you do! ❤

Thanks for trying these foods Brooke ! If you get a good buy on a beef heart at the grocery store buy it, bring it home cut it in 1/4’s snd put it in your insta pot with some beef broth and high pressure it for 60 minutes it will be tender and delicious and make gravy out of the liquid broth or you can cut it up like stew meat and bake it in a dish covered with foil in the oven with an envelope onion soup mix and a can of cream of mushroom soup. With a can of water like you would a roast bake at 375 for 2-3 hours it will be tender and delicious serve with mashed potatoes , a veggie , and rolls or biscuits to enjoy with the gravy ! I grew up on a farm snd we always loved beef heart cooked in gravy or in the pressure cooker , you can cook it whole and slice it or cut it in 1/2 length ways and bake it that way for slicing !! God bless ❤️🙏🙋🏻🌈🌈
