On the forgiveness part, my mum (2nd wife) passed on 4months after my birth and my aunt (siz to my my mum) had to drop out of class 7 to take care of me while mama wa kambo who was the 1st wife never bothered of my well being till date. Dad passed on when I was six years and from the stories I've been told, my biological mum was poisoned by step mum. I'm 30 know and still never understood how cold the step mum was. How do I find peace within me to forgive such an incident which my step sister confessed to have aided innocently and asked for forgiveness. Not forgetting she squandered all the cash dad had left for my up bring....Anyway this interview was therapeutic. keep up!

Loved how vulnerable and empowering the whole three part series was especially the last part❤. However Mr. Lenny, forgiveness is a personal journey so your sister will forgive your dad when she's ready just like you did when you were ready. Don't force her juu it won't come from an honest place😢!

Yes. I agree with the need to have a different perspective of masculinity. I actually mentioned it in my recent episode that the version of masculinity we should embrace as our Contemporary African society is that - 'Masculinity simply lies in the paradigm shift of asserting dominance to feeling comfortable in vulnerability.'

The first journey towards forgiveness is by forgiving yourself first. Forgive yourself for allowing anyone who hurted you. Let that anger go, make peace with your self and then you will be able to forgive the other.

Thank you Mr. Lenny for sharing. I can relate to your sister, I'm still on a journey to forgiveness for my own benefit as I heal. Brutal beatings as a little girl, DV in the home, with an added layer of maintaining the image of a perfect family on the outside broke me. No alcohol, no poverty, but religion that sheltered abusers and cultivated abuse of all kinds. I keep away for my sanity.
