@HARSAviationMuseum Restored and flying again for the first time in 13 years - our 1950's Aussie-designed & built Winjeel, a rugged pilot training aircraft from the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation (CAC) known to hundreds of veteran RAAF pilots from their very first flights.
After years of work by HARS volunteers, our Winjeel A85-435, first delivered to RAAF in 1956, took to the air today piloted former Qantas pilots Mark Hall (L) and Mark Thurstan who were clearly overjoyed with the tough old bird's performance.
This is what we do at the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society, HARS, at Albion Park, NSW. Also, an early highlight of this month's Open Tarmac Weekend at HARS where visitors roam freely among our 50+ aircraft with always plenty of action to see and hear.
