Apparently you can but you need to eat specific stuff before/after to help your body better process the stuff. I would be interested to know if there is actual details of this in the book or whether you only get this when you sign up for the protocol! I've listened to hours of interviews with him and am gradually gleaning little bits of specifics but it's hard listening to the hours of repetition to gain tiny bits of relevant info.

I don't think eating something (you buy in Amazon from a doubtful source) that is supossed to match a neonatus gut state (which is highly different than an adult gut and has different needs) will help you with anything. From your 30's and 40's on, what you can change in your body composition is the fat percentage, and it gets harder with passing years. And for that, you can only use two tools, both of them at the same time. First of all, physical activity, mainly outside. And second, change your diet. Stop eating garbage (processed, sugar, salted, deep fried, burnt, meat from feed-fed animals, fish included, etc). But stop eating rhem for good. And change all that for organic vegetables and pulses, healthy virgin oils and a small quantity of animal products. That will reduce the amount of calories in your diet. And we already hace scientific evidence it hepls with quality longevity. Infusing peels of apples treated with pesticides and buying all sort of unknown powders to drink while you rest hours everyday in your sofa before and after friday pizza dinner o tuesday night delivery from franchise restaurant is useless (and as expensive as stupid)

I appreciate the concepts he is sharing, but unfortunately most of us do not know where to find the source of what he is explaining that we need, beyond the terms he is using. It would be helpful if he (or Rebecca) could share what foods provide the nutrients needed, or what supplements he is recommending we take. It was very scholarly and didn't really help me know what to do. Just some friendly feedback!

Most of it comes from The Immunity Code. It's on Amazon. In terms of specific foods I'll give a list. But the what and when, or rather the timing and how you do it has as much impact as the foods themselves - raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, pomegranate, shallots, steel cut oats, honey, lean steak, salmon, asparagus, onions, and many others. Hope that is somewhat helpful.

In all fairness he is selling a book that has those details, but I think more importantly if you don't know the principals of an approach then I don't know on what basis you would follow the practical details. I thought this was a good summary of the principals of his approach.

Eating from healthy foods would be great if they were not grown in soil that has been so depleted of those same things he's talking about that would help the biomes in the body to begin with. I think the last generation to eat from healthy soil were people from say your great grandparents generation. Even a lot of organic foods today are becoming depleted because of the toxicity from the air and water. So, sadly, it's almost like supplements have become a necessity. Thank you for helping people start to think about what goes into their bodies.

Sadly lot of truth to this Gail. I have, however, personally seen near miraculous things done with food that go beyond what is possible with drugs. Food is still the answer.

I would love to know what joel greene thinks about a whole food plant based diet. Since it has very much of the resistance starches as a food source. What could be a downside, when you supplement with B12, D and DHA and iodine?

Vit D shouldn't be supplemented. It needs to be obtained from light. Studies show that the higher level the healthier you'll be but only if it is obtained by the sun or UV bulb. The others need to be obtained from food. They are with other nutrients that they need to work correctly and taken in isolation they can cause imbalance in the body. Why not do plant based plus meat lol. There is no reason to do a plant based diet unless you are behind on the science of climate change and health and think you are doing something good when really you are doing the worst thing for both your health and the health of the planet.
