U have got it down this far u should roll a set of mains and big ends in it for peace of mind
@dieseldownunder.
10 ай бұрын
I know mate and it may come back to bite me but it’s one of those things, where do you stop if I do the mains and big ends then I should pull the heads off and drop 6 new liner kits in, then rebuild the blower and turbo and before I know it I’d have 15k in the engine I’d prefer to find an 8v92 in the meantime and build that

@dieseldownunder.
10 ай бұрын
Im doing the rear main seal but the rear of the engine was pretty clean so hopefully its all good, I did think about that but a lot of people advise against running them into the sump as the oil that comes out the drains is usually quite dirty eg carbon, unburnt fuel ect so I'm going to make a catch can that way I can just drain them out whenever needed, Cheers mate

G,day Jake, great job on the video , always showing myself new ideas of getting around hard jobs eg getting harmonic balance off , loved it , instantly worked New headliner from kenworth, is it older patterns?, curious cos I've almost fully restored and rebuilt every single thing on bosses 82 white road boss, and original upholstery has been damaged, waiting on guy who has the dies to make me factory style upholstery, which the colour and patterns looked shit hot , and damaged or not cleaned up fantastic for something sitting uncovered in the hay shead for 30 years, no shit , sun visors i got back to mint condition, no faults in either, this trucks been dressed as western star for past 29 years , so aim is period correct accessory and original white everything else , even logo on factory steering wheel, dashboard light's horns , shit it has come up so close to brand new look, ive restored 2 period correct keith alloy bullbars for road boss s , other trucks in million bits , cab bonnet painted, chassis still out with the steers n bulls in the paddock , ready for sand blast

Hey mate thanks for tuning in again! Yes I gave them the part number and they had them in stock at the factory, I have yet to see if there is any difference I know they are black and the original are cream but it should still fit! I’d hate to see you wear that engine for a hat mate. Disposable gloves would go a long way to keep oils/fuels/grease etc can be carcinogenic, just thinking of your long term health in this industry young brother 👍😎

Hey mate thanks for watching! I don't have one big enough for this yet, I will build one soon to avoid this in the future for sure, obviously that's the correct way I knew id get a couple of comments on it cause its not standard practice that's for sure but I had a couple of safety's in place that weren't in the camera view while working on the sump and underneath to avoid any accidents. Gloves are a bad habit I should wear them more often for sure! Thanks again I appreciate it!
